I have been hearing over and over again the quality of telltale games' Sam & Max series. So I began looking them up on Steam and XBLA. I downloaded the demo for XBLA, but it's painfully obvious that the interface is designed for a mouse, so I looked on steam.

Now here's the trick of the thing. I have a mac. Ordinarily this is rarely a huge problem, Mac is becoming more and more accessable as a gaming machine. and I'm not SO into games that I need every PC title out there, the ones available for mac are diverse enough to keep me happy.

Looking on steam I see that every Sam and Max Episode is available on Steam for a little under $9, great! but only season 2 is available for Mac, BOO!

This doesn't make much sense to me, why wouldn't they have made season 1 available before season 2? why not let people start at the beginning? why is my cat a lesbian? (it chews on the rugs in our bathroom, and judging from the purrs, loves every second of it, and I like the play on words "rug muncher")

Now, I'm going to buy these games, this much seems inevitable. But I don't want to have to buy it off of Xbox live or for the wii if I want to play season 1. So my fellow escapists, what's your opinion? is Season 2 good enough that I can ignore season 1? Is Season 1 coming for the Mac? Are there solutions available that I haven't considered?

Don't you mean Sam and Mac? Hoyhoyhoy.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Never played anything beyond Sam and Max hit the Road, unless Poker Night counts. Which it doesn't. Good luck figuring out your predicament, though.

Based on my experience of playing the first season then getting bored on the first episode of the second I'd say the earlier games are better. That being said, I don't know how bad the interface is on the consoles so it's really a judgement call on your part.
