Just found out that Sam Rami is not going to direct spiderman 4. According to IGN Daily Fix, he left the project, and now the movie is set to release 2012 with a different director.

Who do you want to direct now that Sam is gone?

I can't give any examples unfortunerally, since I do not know any directors other than Uwe Boll and Michael Bay, because they're mentioned alot on these forums.

Edit: Do'h, wrong forum, could any nice mods change it to off-topic?

I thought we all learned this yesterday.

No wait, that was just that Spiderman 4 was pushed back, wasn't it?

I don't really care. I never watch movies.

Good, more time for him to make Evil Dead 4.

Which he will.

He's got the Warcraft movie to do first.

Spiderman 1 was okay, Spiderman 2 was pretty good (and one of the better movie tie-in games out there to boot) and Spiderman 3 was terrible.

I suppose a different director could bring new things to the series...I guess?

I think this is a good thing. Raimi was great for 2 movies. At that point, I think he got as much as he could from Spider-Man.

I have an issue with rebooting the series, with what I assume is a new origin story which will take up 45 minutes of the new movie. Everybody knows the origin of Spider-Man. Just get a new story with a new director/actors. Comic books get new artists/writers all the time and then leave after they've told their 2-3 story arcs. Why not do that with the movies?

Sony is only pushing ahead with this in order to prove that they're still using the license. If a license lies dormant for a time Marvel can take it back, that's what happened to Hulk.

As far as I know they are re-booting it with no Tobey Maguire or Sam Raimi. I think Kevin Smith would make a good choice... he's a fan and he's good at comedy, which is something the Spiderman series has in spades.

But it also has action and lots of it. Have you ever seen Kevin Smith direct action?

Len Wiseman wouldn't be too bad. Just keep Michael Bay the HELL away from it.

But will Kevin Smith be able to make Spiderman a PG-13 movie? Isn't all his movies rated R?

Kevin Smith has had a few action moments but not much. I'm sure he could tone down the sex and drug references for Spiderman... He would be able to work well with the dialogue though.

Quentin Tarrentino or Kevin Smith. It'll be interesting.
A Tarantino Spiderman would suck balls. Kevin Smith, by his own admission, doesn't have the visual chops to do a superhero movie. My vote would be for Zack Snyder. That guy is a visual joygasm waiting to happen.

I thought Bruce Campbell didn't like talking about the Evil Dead trilogy anymore.
