Sandbox Games

In my last post, I was searching for a free-roaming game. But how about a sandbox game? I mean like a HARDCORE sandbox game, like Garry's Mod. Oh yeah, it has to be on PC. I'm in dying need of a new game.

Hardcore? Mount&Blade Warband has what you need. So sandbox, there IS no main quest!

Yeah, although there are some better mods for the original, I'd say Warband. It's really fun.

You'll never get a game that will allow you to ANYTHING. The developers have to get there first Saints Row II does get pretty close though.

I'd say X3 or Escape Velocity (EV if you don't mind 2D that is). EVE Online if you want to go MMO.

Second life a pretty close thing to do anything, so maybe that!

Crackdown (the original one, forget the crappy sequel) is probably the best pure snadbox game I've played.
You only have one goal- kill all the gang leaders of Pacific City, and you can do it however you want.
If you want something with a little more structure, give Just cause 2 a shot too.
