Sandbox rampages

I have been replaying San Andreas lately, and I have been reminiscing about some of the mass destruction I have wreaked in gaming filled afternoons of weekends past.

My favorite had to be in Saints Row, which almost always boiled down to me creating a roadblock with two gang members and the chief of police (you get him for finishing all the Fight Club missions on the Prison island) at my side. Needless to say, by the time my character was down to scavenging pistol ammo from dead cops to get by, hundreds of civilians, law enforcement, and opposing gang members would have been killed.

So I was hoping that some of you could share some of the better streaks of destruction you have survived in Sandbox games.

Mercenaries (the original), going around all of the faction's HQ's and blowing them to bits with various airstrikes, and finishing off all of the surrounding troops.

My personal favourite was dropping a Fuel Air Bomb on the Chinese base.
The vortex thingy it creates looks awesome.

Well rampaging in a walker through a bunch of buildings in Red Faction Guerrilla is always a ton of fun.

In San Andreas I rode a bike through the city with Six Stars (there's a cheat to make the stars appear all at once) and it hella fun. The barricades designed for cars were easy to go through on a bike.

I also have a pc mod that gives me a portal gun, I shoot one spot, then another, and instantly travel, its fun jumping off buildings (but you have to make the hole first, can't shoot in the air.)

Well, I enjoy a good stabbing spree with the knife in GTA IV every once and a while, but none of my many killing sprees in my virtual life really stand out.

Edit: I wonder: How many enemies and civilians have I killed in video games since I first started playing? I also wonder how big the number of killed would be if we combined the kills of every single video game player ever.

Mines was probably in saints row 2 also, I started at the police station with 2 gang members and the chief of police( I liked the irony) then went all round that area, and all over the map running through road blocks, being attacked by 12 pimps , twas good.

Prototype was made entirely with this idea in mind, I believe.

Beating a man to death on the concrete, devouring his corpse, and then elbow-dropping onto a nearby tank was some of the most fun you could possibly have in a sandbox rampage.

Prototype was made entirely with this idea in mind, I believe.

Beating a man to death on the concrete, devouring his corpse, and then elbow-dropping onto a nearby tank was some of the most fun you could possibly have in a sandbox rampage.

I loved Prototype. Even its cluster fucky missions.

Mercs 2 gives you a TacNuke, Infinite Health, and a Chicken Suit. That's fun.

In the mean time, Saints Row 2 is GREAT fun, especially dressed like Psudo-Kratos, wheilding a flamethrower walking down a crowded street, occasionally throwing C4 on people.
... I can't wait to buy these both for my own.

Just going around the city via the train, shooting anyone I saw was great fun.

Mercs 2 gives you a TacNuke, Infinite Health, and a Chicken Suit. That's fun.

But it wasn't the same.

For some reason it wasn't as fun.

HAHAHA... Oh man I remember once in Saints Row 2 I wanted to start a killing spree with only my fists, and I started with the pimps.

A whole gang of the bastards swarmed me but luckily I had an extra can o' WHOOP ASS left over and I murdered them and went on to RAVAGE the rest of the town.

Are there sweet PC mods for this? I've seen the game super cheap around town and might have to pick it up.

OT: Everything about Saints Row 2 is dumbass grin inducing. It's so much fun.

I loved Prototype. Then, about halfway through, I hated Prototype.

I still hate Prototype.

You know the L.A. riots? I started those.

Errrr, In games, there's nothing better than driving at top speed up and down the pavement/sidewalk in GTA4 in the kind of first person driving camera view, watching people slide over the bonnet/hood.

In "Just Cause", I survived five car accidents (me on a bike or on foot), twenty five shoot outs (six with the army), and killed about a thousand cops and militia. The streak was ended when I got blown up off a cliff, into the water some three hundred feet down, setting a record for "highest base jump" (yes, I survived).

I am inclined to agree with you, but there is a hell of alot to be said for standing on top of a sky scraper, aming a nuke at the street beneith you, and then falling to your not-death like some radioactive Chicken Titan God.

Vice City, the amount of people I've taken out in that game the city should be a ghost town by now.

Some of my bloodiest rampages came from Prototype. It was so much fun grabbing a thermobaric tank and run over crowds of people while blowing the shit out of everything in sight.
