I expected my second year of high school to be tough but not this tough, The day after school starts my reading teacher gives us an SAT sample quiz, and if we fail it we get kicked out.

Hardcore.

School starts tommorow, and I've alway's found school to be easy, with the exception of foreign language, but I'm not taking it this year so the only hard thing I have to do is the ACT, but I expect to get a 28-30 on it.

Wait, they really are going to kick you out, or do you mean they are going to dump you into a different classroom?

I was lucky in that I graduated before my state (Washington) instituted a ridiculious series of tests you take throughout your school career, and if you fail the one in 11th grade, even if you pass school and pass senior year....you don't graduate. I know, dumb isn't it?

Oh yeah, and I never took the SATs, I scored in the high 90's percentile on the pre-SAT, but never bothered to take the actual test. Still got into a good college, and I don't plan on trying to take that test because of the added essay section.....and I hate essays.

Wait, you have a reading teacher?
Shouldn't you know how to do that by now?

Anyway, I'll be starting A-Levels on the 7th and it'll be hell.

My brother took it the first year they added the essay. He asked someone at Eastern Illinois University(someone who worked there, don't remember her title) what they did with the essay, she said they just ignored it because they had no idea what to do with it.

Haven't started my second year yet, summer holiday goes until September. I don't think it should be too much harder than last year. It never is really.

My year was the "guinea-pig" year for yearly state assesments (HSAs in Maryland, SOLs in Virginia, lol) And it sucked balls. At least I didn't have to take the required SAT prep class since I got 199 on my PSATs.

I'm good at standardized tests, but I hate them.

Yeah, the essay portion bugs me on principle. You mean, you are attempting to give a quantifiable grade to a portion that is wholly subjective to the eyes of the person grading? What if my essay pisses off the grader? How does a perfect SAT score essay differ from a non-perfect essay if both are written perfectly with no spelling or grammar errors and in the proper format?

It's all ridiculious, and there was no reason to put it in the SAT or ACT.

I've been hearing a lot of complaints from my friends about how tough their schools are this year.

Fuck yeah for Home school. I ain't gotta do shit except do a workbook here and there and go to a class of my choosing 3 times a week.

I'm doing Wing Chun, Yoga, and a graphic design workshop.

It's an English teacher. Proper writing, ancient literature, everything about the literary arts crammed into one subject.

OT: School isn't tough for me, as I don't start for another two weeks. Then hell will break loose. However, I'd like to think that I'm ready for college.
