Savage

So. I've been hearing a lot of things about this "Savage" game, an FPS/RTS game that can be downloaded as freeware from the company's site.

I've been wondering if I should check this out, if it's worth the time, etc. So my question to you, my good Escapists, is this;

Is it a good game? Are there any major flaws? Would anyone perhaps be interested in joining up in playing with their fellow Escapists as we crush our foes?

I never really played a lot of Savage, but it seemed like an interesting idea. It's also the only game I've played where you can be a giant swinging a tree as a weapon, while everyone else is normal sized.

But if it's freeware now, why not just download it? If you like it, then great, if not, then you've not really lost anything.

I suppose I should. Although, I'd sort of like someone who knows the ropes to kind of hold my hand through a little bit. I'm not exactly what you would call "proficient" in figuring out new genres.
