You are allowed to go back in time and save a person from death. Who do you save? You can't save someone from old age, and you can't use the time travelling for anything else (just so we stay one topic). I'd personally save Cliff Burton, world's best bassist. He didn't deserve to get a bus on top of him.

EDIT: To everyone who won't save anyone because of how time will be messed up, this thread disregards any consequences. Also:

Nobody. You never know how time travel could fuck with the current world. Even a small action could have a far-reaching consequences. I imagine saving someone from death would have some pretty big ones. Obviously not the response you wanted but it's honestly what I would say if presented with this choice. It's not like there is anyone I've really wanted to save from death anyways. I suppose such a feeling is a luxury. I've never lost a family member or someone else that is close to me.

Or Hitler. For the lolz.
I bet if Hitler was brought back to life he would be swiftly killed within the very day of his resurrection.

That is unless they create twin clones of Hitler and a zombie-Nazi army to go along with them.

This wins in terms of screwing up the time stream.

I would say John Lennon, evil takes the best of us first.

only one? I would save james dean, all the musicians that died on the day the music died (namely buddy holly and ritchie valens, the big bopper don't count), eddie cochran, jimi hendrix, bob marley, jeff buckley, d. boone from the minutemen and john lennon. Overall i'd go for jimi hendrix, buddy holly or jeff buckley because neither of them fulfilled anywhere near their potential.

Are we talking interfering with the cause of the person's death, or bringing the person to the future with us to live in what we perceive as the present?

If it's a matter of saving a life and then coming back to our own time to see what changed, I'd "save" my mother. I never met her and from what little I know I probably wouldn't like her, but my childhood couldn't have been made any worse than it already was just by her presence in it, so I'd take the gamble that it'd be an improvement.

We're talking about interference. Also, this thread disregards any possible consequences in time caused by the change in cause and effect.

Jimi Hendrix, and Grigori Rasputin. Hendrix should be obvious, but Rasputin? Because http://www.cracked.com/article_16822_7-historical-figures-who-were-absurdly-hard-to-kill_p2.html [ of this ] of this. He's number one, and we should should inject all future babies with his DNA.

I'd probably go with John Lennon as well, I can't seem to think of anyone else at the moment.
