Guuuuh, more alarmists. I've been over this more times than I can count, so I'll just give the cliff notes version.

The Protect IP Act is upgrading a current misdemeanor into a felony. So you'll go to jail for 5 years for illegal streaming instead of the current 2.5.

As in, it's not changing any laws. Already illegal.

As for the SOPA...I haven't actually looked at that yet, but I'm going to assume that it is also nothing because people tend to freak the fuck out over everything all the goddamn time.

Edit: Basically, I've lost confidence in the majority of the internet to research whatever it is we're supposed to be freaking out about and not just take other people's word for it.
