Well, I was just playing Fable 2 and you can have a character based on ranged, melee or magic, or all 3. Now, I dont want to combine them all because I dont want to be a HUGE muscly mage or archer. And as far as ive seen, you can only have one save game at a time. Now, this isnt a huge issue, it would be nice to be able to have multiple but not much to do about it.

Anyway, does it annoy you if you're only allowed one save file?

Yeah, I normally like to experiment with different play styles on games like those.

So it is a bit limiting.

I know on the 360 you could only have one save per character.
And you will doubtless end up maxing out everything. its kind of hard not to do in that game

Depends on the game; there's no reason not to allow you to have as many save files as you like in Half-Life, but I've thought about making an adventure game with a branching storyline in which all of the saves are automatic after you make decisions, thusly forcing the player to commit to every choice they make rather than going to a prior save when they have second thoughts.

I always want the option to have multiple profiles, however. There's no reason to prevent me from playing through a game twice at the same time.

It's very annoying I think, only allowing one save means if something happens to it . . . too bad.

I fell prey to that back in the day of the Playstation 1 . . .

I remember it clearly . . . 200, mind you two HUNDRED hours of work on Star Ocean Second Story, I was ONE level away from finding the last item I needed for the secret boss before the final boss of the game. I was all but done, I had EVERYTHING . . . but I only used one save.

Granted I was allowed more then one due to the use of a memory card but still, becasue of this . . . it makes me angry when i only get one

well, the memory card glitched . . . it became corrupted and I lost all the data on the memory card. Forget the few action games I had on it . . . I LOST 200 HOURS OF DATA FORM THAT RPG . . . it hurt . . . so bad . . . so yes, one save limit makes me rather angry.

I hate you on principle.

I didn't like it nor do i appreciate it in Dead Rising.

On a side note, I like to have more than one save in case of glitches and such. If KOTOR didn't allow multiple saves I would have flipped out when the well-known glitches interfered with my game.

It does a bit, especially when my brother starts a save on a game that I wanted to play.

I've been taking advantage of multiple save slots, fear of data corruption or fucking up my char/game. In games where a different decision means a different story line, I like to explore as many of the possible story lines as possible. However, in FPS games such as... errr... CoD, Doom 3 or FEAR, then one or two save files is enough, just to prevent data corruption from ruining my experience.

That is more than understandable, especially if you play with a female character. (you end up looking like a man XD)
One of my favourite things about having multiple saves is that it allows you to go back and do things differently without having to start the game again from scratch

Fallout 3 and Oblivion being prime examples, I always saved right before the end of the tutorials so I could change what I wanted but skip that boredom.

This is what the Pokemon games, and the majority of RPGs and FPS's need.

At least KOTOR 2 seperates saves for each of your character, that is fucking convenient.

Very much so. Especially with a game like Fable 2 that's prone to game-breaking bugs.

Get one of them and you'll have to start all over again from the very beginning of the story, and there's no guarantee you'll not get another gamebreaking bug again.
