SO recently I have been getting phone calls from men with heavy indian accents with names like. steve, and
I swear, John Mclane.
They claim they are from a credit agency DCS ACS ETC. And i took a payday loan and they will ,come arrest me ruin my life curse me, eat my children , if I don't resolve this matter.
So anyone else getting these calls and if so how did you handle it?
Me i reported them to the fbi and then i blocked my phone number and called them back. Started insulting them , wherein i received a barrage of obscenities. Cementing in my mind that these were scammers. And called back pretending to be one of them, Heavy india accent you owe money, The guy asked if I worked there called me a dumbass and hung up.
So anyone think I should post their number and let a barrage of people call them?

Sorry bout the double post

Edit: And to clarify I was thinking of posting the number on 4chan not here

Yes, that is the only suitable thing to do, post it on 4chan then walk away slowly letting the trolls devour it. Then promise me you will never ever look back.

The proper thing to do would be to alert the authorities and erase/block the number from your phone. Do not publicize the number and do not give these people any more attention than they deserve.

Also, nice double post OP

Sure, go for it. Normally I don't bear those people ill will since they're just doing their jobs for advertisers, but since the guy actually threatened you, feed him to the trolls.

These scammers will be undeterred by your actions. Just ignore them. Answer the phone, and when you realize that it's not a legitimate call politely end the conversation and hang up.

If you come across as professional and confident, they'll realize that you can't be scammed. If you get agitated, they take it as a sign of fear and think that if they play the right cards you'll give in to their demands.

In the US, and probably in other English-speaking nations, creditors cannot threaten your physical person nor can you be arrested for debts. There is not a single person in jail for not paying debt in the US. They can hurt your credit rating, they can demand that you pay, but beyond that they have no power over you.

Finally, and this is a big one, don't ever take out a payday or car title loan. Not only are the interest rates horribly unfair, but their collections agencies know that the people from whom they collect are ignorant of their rights. These agencies often cross the line between legal collections and illegal collections, including threats of jail.

What is sounds like to me, is that someone used your phone number to avoid a bad collections agency. It's not necessarily a 419 scam or something like that, it could very well be an outsourced collections agency. If you don't owe them money, be firm and professional with them, and they will stop.
