Scariest game enemy in a survival horror?

There is nothing scarier (and funnier) than playing Left 4 Dead with someone new, and you hear the inevitable question:

"Hey. Do you hear someone crying?"

Watching the group freak out if she gets disturbed is truly enjoyable. While she can be taken down by a one-shot, it's a different story once she's up and running at someone.

Cerberus (Cerberi?) in the original Resident Evil.

You're just casually walking down the hall, then you hear breaking glass, and the music? The music is the worst fucking part.

When I hear that music, I can just imagine the game screaming at me:
"SHIT JUST HIT THE FAN, *****!"

The monks from Resident Evil 4. They kept muttering, even when you couldn't see them.

Nothing about Dead Space or Resident Evil ever has been scary.
L4D is not intended to be scary, and therefore I don't find fault in it for not being so.

Also, anything where you can effectively fight off wave after wave of monsters is NOT a survival horror game.

The Natives from Mondo Agency.

Atari-style angry looking stickmen sprites flashing red and white. They make no sound cues, meaning it is very difficult to tell their location, which is a problem when they run straight towards you. Upon contact with you, the entire screen flashes red and white with a horribly distressing sound.

They wouldn't be scary, if not for the first person viewpoint with tiny peripheral vision.

I've not played many survival games (Execpt Resi 4 which all the scary ones are mentioned)
So I'll go for the dogs in Resi 4 (thinking of the first time you see them) a low growl then a pounce from the shadows. Freaked me out something awful :(

I haven't actually been scared by a game to be honest (Aside from Doom when I was little :p), just jumpy.

I don't know if it counts as an enemy, but that bath in Eternal Darkness...

A tank in L4D when the game screws up and doesn't play his theme music. Not only is he mad he can't rampage to his own tunes, he's just as surprised to see me as I him when I turn the corner during No Mercy and he's just... there.

Needless to say bricks were shat and I fled past my teammates with Lou Ferrigno in hot pursuit.

iron maidens in re4 :( i hated the room where you see one on the floor and you have to turn your back to it and open the door for it to come alive, then you see another at the other side of the room...

Agreed. But impaling leon on them was funny as hell.=)

Lickers in RE2 were scary as shit, in RE5 they just pussied them down with a instant kill tongue and they died from two shotgun blasts.=\ The hunters in RE0 were probably scarier than the other RE hunters because not even a kick in the balls stopped them. Ghosts in SH4, they just ripped your heart out like nothing. Crickets in RE0 were pretty scary. Demon children in SH were sneaky bastards. The list goes on...

EDIT: you know what, the topic strayed a bit from the main topic and so now the overall scariest game enemy is the giant T-rex dinosaurs in King Kong, though apparently they are infact called V-rex's which is interesting in a way.
Well now how in the hell did that happen? Also this seems like it would work better as a poll. As for my pick though, the ghosts from FEAR 2 because you can't see them moving about a lot of the time and they make everything go dark when you fight them.

the thing with meat hooks from Shadow Man. the noise they make when they are just walking round is weird and then when they see you and start running towards you flailing the hooks and making another weird noise it's awful.
