The dogs coming through the front door in the original RE1, and also coming in through the windows. God damn RE1 was a terribly scary game when I played it originally ;(

Zombie mod for ArmA2. Nothing beats that, it's like 28 weeks later all over again, none of this wussy L4D stuff either, the ArmA2 zombies play to win :D

Don't laugh at me for this...

Back on the original xbox we had the movie to game port of Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets, there is some genuinely freaky shit in that game and considering how young I was it made it all the worse. Much like the first act of the movie you had to go through parts of Knockturn alley, there were sections with dark, gothic rooms with creaky moans and spooky wails and things like this cackling skull that lets off with horrific laughter when you pass sending the shit flying from you. Not to mention the...night...sections of the game when the alreadys creepy halls of Hogwarts are roaming with gjots that just, move along a path without sound or acknowledgement of you, and when they hit you they take a chunk of health. Then there were the wailing ghosts who still to this day remain the only horror game villain to scare me.
What about those bits where the Basilisk threatens to tear your skin off.
Any game where a disembodied voice says they're going to tear you freaking skin off should not get a 7+ rating. Stuff like that would creep me out at my current age, so playing the game as a 9(ish) year old at 8 o'clock on a winter's night...
Yeah, no.

Those screaming mummies in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time; did not make walking through the square fun.

The redeads were just as bad!

However the scariest gaming moment for me would have to be Condemned 2, with the hidden meth lab in the Preston Hotel. Knocked me off my seat.

Just finished the new Resi 5 DLC (Lost in Nightmares) which was much better than the main game.

I won't ruin it but there's one scare that nearly made me dent a hole in my ceiling.
I played and finished it tonight.

- That fucking bat in the window area

-First time you see Mr McBigaxe, walking up some stairs and his weapon slams down infront of you?

-Zombie grabbing guy popping out of the sewer water?

Those made me shit. Alot.

Im really curious to know what did it for you.
It was
option 2: first time meeting mr big axe guy... when he slammed his axe down it hit Jill, wasn't sure if that was meant to happen. made me shit a brick, it came out of nowhere!

Project Zero (Fatal Frame) 2. Everything about that game still haunts my nightmares.

Also, Redeads from Zelda: OOT. I was 8. They screamed at me, paralyzed me and jumped on my face. Doesn't get scarier than that.
>_>

Easy,
Any of the underground sections of any of the STALKER games.

Particularly the first time you come across the Mind Control zombie thing.
When it screamed then appeared in the black doorway, I shat a cinderblock and quit the game. It took me a few days to turn the game back on again...and even then I did it with the sound off.

THIS. This a thousand times! I love that game because of that, one of the very few games that actually managed to scare me. The tension and fear were simply delicious. Specially the doll house with the twins. Ever since, I have a certain fear of dolls. Specially dolls with long, black hair.
