It's from S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl.

It's a good game, just try not to play it on your own, wearing headphones, at night. Almost spoiled my office chair like that...

The single most terrifying moment I remember was the dogs bursting through the window near the beginning of the original Resident Evil. Being 13 at the time probably had something to do with it too...

Gotta give special mention to the sound direction in Dead Space though. Creeping through the corridors and not knowing if that clank was the ship settling or something scuttling towards you? Fantastic
