Do you ever play a game and just make up your own story completely separate from any campaign or missions or quests or what have you in the actual game? I do it all the time, and my favourite game to do it in is Mercenaries 2, because it offers a lot of freedom to make shit up. (i.e. Downed helicopter pilot stranded behind enemy lines trying to get home.)

So anyway, do you ever do this, and if so, what's your favourite game for it.

I do that in Mercs 2, as well...

And yeah I'll do that a lot in Prototype (frightened civilian trying to make their way through the infected hordes back to a blue zone)

Sometimes I'll rename my enemies (usually to steve, regardless of gender) and imagine what their reactions would be to what I do. I also sometimes over imagine how a certain attack should look. This only applies to RPG type games and the sort, though.

Well once me and a buddy thought up a story line to a series of SSBM fights. It was pretty fun. Not I don't think that's what your asking in the OP

I would often ride Agro around in Shadow of the Colossus to epic music from Lord of the Rings, pretending to be Aragorn, to be delivering news of oncoming orcs, etc. etc.

...Unfortunately, no matter how long I rode, I never found a single person...?

I used to play GTA San Andreas, pretending I was Sam Fisher. I'd paradrop onto a police station and sneak in, taking out the officers with my silenced pistol...I did the same thing in Saints Row 2 as well actually.

Then I started playing the Splinter Cells again...so I stopped.

GTA4 got me thinking sometimes. Should I kill him or him? I love it.

Yes. I was playing Gears of War 1 co-op online, and I decided that Dom wasn't trained properly to use anything larger than the snub pistol and grenades. That was actually a really fun playthrough, and it made playing on Hardcore considerably more challenging than previously.
