I've recently started making a spoof film of Japanese Monster Horrors (Godzilla for example) for a Geography project on Japanese culture. This is the first film that I've made for school I was wondering if anyone else has any stories about there's or, better yet, any tips for me?

Umm. I remember we had to do one about the Industrial Revolution. We showed poor working conditions and accidentally knocked a guy out with a brick. We left it on film and the teacher wasn't impressed.

All I know is that if you get a guy to dress up as a girl (ie a wig, you sick fuck) then you will score laughs from your class and teacher

Some friends and I once made a video about the duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. It's on YouTube somewhere, I think.

I've also made a few documentaries on the USS Indianapolis and the Battle of Mogadishu.

As for tips, remember two heads are better than one. And have some kind of script or plan on what you're wanting to do.

I starred in my friend college film. His was some kind of gangster thiong in a similar style to the end of the godfather.
We had been using bb guns to replicate the real thing, so when we were running down the high street in suits with silenced istols, people got scared. We had not of course told the police what we would be doing.
About 20 mins later, we were filming a scene on a footbridge over the train tracks when a fuckload of police with guns and stuff ran at u and arrested us. We were shit scared of course. We caught it on film though and it made for a not too bad scene.
We got away with it though after we explained what we were doing. It was a good day
Just remember things like getting the lighting and the sound right. We frogot the deadcat (i think thats what its called) so we had to use the mic on the camera so the sound quality sucked.

Well, the only film project I have done so far is in English, on a book called "Montmorency". Its about a convict, turned master thief, turned British spy. In our film, it was me fighting someone while pretending to be in prison, me pretending to steal an iPod from someone (who I had knocked unconscious), and then me fighting someone else again... There wasn't any actual fighting in the book and the thievery was very elaborate using the London sewer system... our teacher did not approve.

My class made a screenplay about a documentarian who finds a bad zombie movie director.
I don't know if we'll still make it, though.

I've done a few for media studies, our most recent one was a renactment of a scene from Life on Mars. We did bonnet rolls and everything.
Just dont go for obvious and badly acted humor or people will think you suck

Firstly tell me all of your plans, how you plan on filming it, what's it about, and anything that comes to mind.
So far we've got a small cuddly toy bunny that gets exposed to toxic waste (somehow) and turns into a Godzilla style monster and goes on a rampage in a (lego) city (remember it's a spoof) then we're having an Asian girl in our class to pretend to be really scared about it and scream a lot. Then that's as far as we've got, very much in the planning stages at the moment.

Being an ex film major I've been in my fair share of films and have made a few random ones. My advice would be, to not base it all around the giant monsters. Instead make whoever is talking super serious (wear a suit it's a plus), then when describing dangers of the region, show clips of Godzilla.

We were asked to make a modern Hamlet. I played Hamlet, the lonely emo NIN loving cutter. Ophelia killed herself with sleeping pills and booze. I stabbed the "King" with my lovingly crafted Lord of the Rings replica sword (and mind you this was before Peter Jackson's movies so it wasn't popular).

The other one was an interview with Holden Caulfield. Lets not talk about how that went: Suffice it to say I spent a lot of time chasing ducks.

How do you plan on moving stuff around?
So far we've only got the idea of strings but since it's supposed to be really badly acted and everything anyway we thought this would be ok.
