Anything by Phillip K Dick.

also for quick hits Edmund Cooper books are cool and Mr Clarke is awesome as always.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming. I'l pull up some info online of any that get posted/recommended a few times and sort myself out a list for the coming months.

@j.poley was thinking of Philip K. Dick already, chomped my way through Do Androids Dream... a few weeks ago, any specific longer ones of his? Coz I've noticed a lot on the shelf at my bookstore are collections of short stories

They're a bit short to be honest but any of Philip K. Dick's books are always worth the look. I liked the Otherland series by Tad Williams as well, good if you're into the whole cyberpunk thing.
