heres hoping it continues to stay stable, I'm suprised they were able to get the skin grafting to take and such...but as you can see he doesn't walk normal in the least. I feel sorry for the cat....I'm between putting it out of its misery and hoping its able to lead a normal life now.

so many variables from the grafts being rejected eventually, to him being completely uncomfortable with the pressures the metal objects put on his body...ect that all point to it would have been better to save it the pain.

But heres hoping.

I'm happy the cat can live normally now. The implications for future human prosthetics are a nice bonus, but I'm quite a fan of cats, so...

Oscar the cat. His paws cut off in an unfortunate combine harvester accident. But we have rebuilt him. We have the technology.

And soon, this technology could be applied to people! Could you imagine a world where bionic limbs work? Hell, we could end up with automail! Suddenly, that image makes me hate the world a lot less.

Also, that picture of the cat with the bionic legs makes me hate humanity less. He's so adorable...and yet so tech-awesome.
Well, bionic limbs do "work".

Sure, we don't have any hand/arm/eye prosthesis that surpass the biological versions... yet, but there IS that runner with bionic legs who is able to reach inhuman speeds and is banned from competition because of that. He's a world record holder for running 100, 200 and 400 meters, and he got no legs.

This guy.

As a transhumanist and big supporter of body enhancements, I support!

This is clearly the first step in technological upgrades in which will make cats the supreme overlords of the universe. Just you wait!

..

Serious though, that is pretty amazing. I feel bad for the cat though for the original situation. :/

I seen this in the paper yesterday.

I feel sorry for the poor guy, losing his back legs to a combine harvester sounds awfull!

But glad he was lucky enough to get a second chance.

Augmented... cat...
Two things I love, combined.
I... I want one...
Will you be the first of the Denton family?
Something to do with Dues Ex?
If so, never played the games, and don't know much about them. But they could be interesting, may need to look into them...
Also, anything for some lovely augmentics...

How does a cat get "a little bit mauled" from a combine harvester... I would have thought that a combine harvester would be the end for a cat.

Either way, I'll take a cyberbrain or some eyes more than anything. Basically anything to speed mental faculties and repair my eyesight.

I think I can see what the DLC for Deus EX will be...

A cat with minigun legs and a jet pack.

Now THATS the future.
