I don't know if it's maybe a bit too advanced for you (I'm studying automotive engineering) but the last couple of years have seen the development of what is called a variable compression rate engine or VCR engine.

You said that your project should have some impact on the world and with this technology it is possible to cut a considerable part off the fuel consumption of the internal combustion engine and gives you the possibility to put anything in there: gas, diesel, methanol, LPG.

It uses some kind of an auxiliary cylinder, it's a bit hard to explain. Maybe you could build some kind of model of how it works. A prototype using this is the Peugeot MCE-5.

That sounds really awesome. Do you have any idea how one would build such a model?

Do a study to see if alchoal increases your chance to perform in exams. For a controlled experiment you need 4 buddys each with a different brand of alchoal and 1 person who doesn't drink (draws the short straw) for control.

Then try and see if by increasing your alchoal consumption and mixing it with energy drinks your overall performance increases or decreases.

Everyones happy and your are drinking!... For Science.

I don't know... I don't think that for a science fair in school it's necessary to invest in having it cast or lathed... Maybe cut it out of styrofoam? But be warned, this could get really heavy and difficult on the research and since it's not your original work you'd have to do a lot of citing your sources.

This probably doesnt count as science but for my final high school project I built a working model of a elevator. Got a solid A

I had to do a science project once. I put some seeds in the microwave for varying amounts of time to see how much radiation they could survive. I got an A for it which once again just goes to show that my entire schooling career was a fucking joke.
