I can't see those vodka pills being any good aside from pre-gaming. Eat a couple before hitting the bar, just to kickstart your buzz.

I kind of want those contacts, but only if they have them in prescription magnifications and if they actually provide worthwhile data rather than, as Distorted Stu noted, up-close advertising.

If those alcohol pills become commercially available I see the number of alcohol related death skyrocketing. Popping a few pills would make alcohol poisoning far too easy. It would be cool if they made them slow releasing or something, otherwise they would probably be pretty harmful.
How would slow releasing be better?

After popping 5:
"These aren't working, I might have to take a few more."
After popping 5 more:
"...osdoer ayyyyy? rarg."

I'd prefer it if this pill could be dissolved into peoples drinks. Theres more than a few idiot kids in my school who shouldn't be allowed to breed for fear they would use their children as footballs.

And if not I'd just take 6 or 7. Take myself out of the gene pool.

Alright, I know that not a soul has, but I must ask anyway.

On the topic of the technological contacts, has anyone here seen the series Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex? They've got some nice digital readouts right to implants in the eyes, or prosthetic eyes. I think this looks absolutely wonderful and it's a step closer to being technologically augmented....Though I know, that idea creeps a helluva lotta people out. I still love it all xD

Slow releasing, as in it would gradually get you drunk over the course of the night. So it wouldn't just be, pop 5, pass out and hit your head on the coffee table. It would at least give your body time to get accustomed to the alcohol rather than just put you into shock.

The idea of a contact-lens HUD is epic. If they were connected to the Internet somehow, I'd probably use them for my emails and the Escapist RP forums.

Those contact lenses are awesome.
If you were to use the projection in the other direction, the next step could well be an augmented <a href=http://codegeass.wikia.com/wiki/Lelouch_vi_Britannia#Geass>advanced hypnotic stare.

Which is to say a contact lens that can do this:

To obey me!

Even if they could just present a changing pattern on your eye, it would be cool.

Whatever happened to, "don't be silly, cover your willy"

Or, "don't be a dummy, cum on her tummy!"

Now it's like, "don't be an imbecile, take a hormonally defective male fertility dehancement!"

If those contact lenses could also monitor biomedical data they could be incredibly useful for athletes, soldiers and people with illnessess such as diabetes, a constant feed of blood-sugar-level, body temp, hydration. Cyborgs will rise up!

Hmm, genetically alter the testes by removing a gene from one of the sections.

Yeah, this will turn out fine.

I can see no other possible outcome.

Those cyberlenses are awesome. I've been waiting for augmented reality to become a, um, reality for years now. I just hoped they'd come in glasses or something. I can't put on contact lenses, I get the jibblies when I try to apply eye drops.

My favourite part about the vodka pill is how people readily admit they drink alcohol only because of the alcohol, and not due to the tast of the beverage. As a non drinker, I find that fascinating.

The part about black holes is more fascinating if you consider the theory that black holes create new universes, and that universes are subjected to a kind of natural selection akin to living beings.

Also, Admire, if you think quasars and young galaxies would make a nice romance, you must read Italo Calvino's The Cosmicomics (I think that's how it's called in English?) because it's kind of exactly like that.

Four words.

[HEADING=2]I. WANT. THESE. LENSES![/HEADING]

Or at least similar sunglasses.

No, seriously. All i need is some kind of Stat-O-Vision, helpful outlines highlighting things i need, Adblocker installed in them, and probably a wrist-mounted PDA a-la Pip Boy to configure them. This would be more awesome than Chuck Norris.

Isn't there a surgery you can get that ties off your sperm-tube things?

The rest of the stuff is pretty awesome, though.
Ya still rather get sniped.

Join the seedless grapes club.
Kind of drastic mis-spell there O.O

But, yes, condoms were around thousands of years ago. And humanity's still here.

Magic eyes can only be good.

I can't swallow pills, and I'm not a big drinker, so vodka pills are one of the most useless things I've ever heard of.

So, black holes form galaxies, stars form solar systems, planets attract sattelites form planetary systems, life forms on planets, indidual species come into existence, vaguely resembling one another but clearly distinct, and when one group exists in large enough numbers, they form groups which often come about as a result of many gathering around an individual.

Today I learnt how desperate some guys are not to have kids. And how the Egyptians viewed intestines (warm, squishy, sperm-proof). Well, I already knew that one, but still.

Okay, so am I the only thinking, "Those contacts would be really good for looking at porn."?

Those contacts look amazing, what a brillant idea, I really hope they catch on before I'm too old to grasp current technology.

Not sure about the male pill, they had loads of problems wuth the original female pill. I'd trust in that more as that now has a proven track record as opposed to this new drug that could affect my children.

Surely I'm not the only one who thinks an alcohol pill is stupid? It'd completely ruin the point of going to a bar. I like the drink, I like the taste and I like the social process of being in a pub with your mates, all gathered round having a laugh, taking turns in buying a round. And I like the process of actually drinking my alcohol over a few hours.

Where's the fun in; "Right, I wanna get pretty drunk, so I'll take 4 pills now and that'll be my lot for the night"?
It's stupid. Not to mention dangerous for alcoholics and binge drinks (and idiots).

Ok, those lenses mean we have just taken a new step into the world of Shadowrun and it's Augmented Reality.
