Deadly Creatures (Scorpion Mo-Cap) [http://wii.ign.com/dor/objects/14235413/deadly-creatures/videos/deadlycreature_mocap_020409.html]

My Wii has been gathering dust for a little while, so I'm clinging to hope that this game pumps some life back into the old girl. I've been anticipating Deadly Creatures since I first heard of it, and the most recent video (see above) is giving me a good feeling about this title. It's something completely new, looks great featuring a nice art design, and is pretty friggin' visceral to boot (stabbing enemies in the throat, tearing off wings, snapping necks, etc).

Over the months, this game has gone from "ignore" to "bargain bin" to "rental" to almost being a "certain buy."

Thoughts? Opinions? Hate Speeches?

I've checked it out, it looks pretty cool. Might pick it up if I have money left over from liquidating my bank account (going to Egypt!)...this and Mad World

If I didn't own some very pleasant reptiles, I would probably want this game more. I still want it, mind you, but it's like buying 'mass puppy murder' if you are a dog owner or 'Cooking mama, kitten addition' if you own a cat.

People are hyping this game up too much. Where are the people who are excited over Bikini Zombie Slayers? It's coming out around the same time.

I doubt this title will be of any high quality. I dunno what it is about it that makes me think that way...it's just that a lot of excitement brewing Wii titles not of the Nintendo brand have failed. Remember Mushroom Men and how people said it would be awesome? Turned out that game sucks, even though the idea is cool...

I haven't played my Wii since probably the summer, after I got my replacement sensor bar. There just isn't too much drawing me back to my Wii. It's all about my PS3 and 360 right now.

I never played Mushroom Men, but press reviews were mixed leaning towards a favourable reception. Saying the game sucks is an exaggeration. But seeing how you score games in your reviews, that's still a 6.5/10, right? [this is a joke and my attempt at humour].

Even if the response to Deadly Creatures is no better, I think it's rather important that gamers get behind and show enthusiasm for developers that at least attempt something new. Otherwise, you have no right to complain and deride the sequel machine and the umpteenth identical Zelda or Mario adventure.

Dude...it's a game about bugs. How in depth do any of you possibly think this could get until your just sitting on your couch and shaking your wiimote around. One trick pony if you ask me. It'll be 7 stages (one of them being the tutorial) and then stuffed with missions like "beat the clock time challenge crap" Or some stealthy reach the checkpoint without being seen. Not to Troll but I've lost almost all of my faith in any new title for the wii.

Hey, i'm with you. I would love to see some new stuff on the Wii that isn't another Zelda or Mario Adventure (well, those are still good). Problem is that we are talking about the Wii...THE WII! It's been made pretty darn clear that developers only make games for the Wii to make a quick buck.

If DC is any good, then that's awesome. I'll check it out then. I'm just not holding my breath that it will be the game we are all hoping it will be.

A bad game is a bad game even if it is new. Gamecock games are the perfect example of this.

I dunno it looked okay I guess at E3 bur I don't know, I;m skeptical of Nintendo third party support.

No better in relation to Mushroom Men (considering press reception, so that would place it squarely in the "good" category if nothing else. Not excellent, but certainly not bad).

I'm not saying run out and buy everything that doesn't have a number attached to the end of the title. But if there are good, relatively original, new IPs coming out, the least anyone can do is give it a shot.

This looks to be the most immersive arachnid experience in gaming yet!

I heard about this a while ago and thought it might be kinda cool, after seeing that trailer I really wish I had a Wii. I've been in a bit of a games drought of stuff I'd actually like to buy recently, and that looks very fun.

ooh...

My wii's been gathering dust for a while now, I may have to pre-order this to give it a spark of hope.

the gameplay does lokk as though it could get repetitive, but with new abilities unlocked along the way, it may work well.

my 2 cents

rosac

p.s when is the U.K release for this? does anyone know?

I'm getting a heady aroma of GoW...something needed on the Wii to an extent. And the extent is present.

This one is gonna scare me mum.

My Wii can't collect dust, it's in its box somewhere. I might have to take it out for this.
