So yeah, since the first noble attempt to gather fans of Scott Pilgrim kinda didn't went well, here's a new one!

SCOTT PILGRIM FANS, ASSEMBLE!

For those who don't know

Scott Pilgrim is a Canadian Comic Book by Bryan Lee O'Malley, to be made into a mayor motion picture by Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) this summer.

The actual appeal of it is kinda hard to explain (It's essentially a manga-ish Lovestory told in the style of 8 bit videogames...not the visual style, though), sooo...

The official synopsis:
Scott Pilgrim is 23 years old, living in the big city with his gay roommate, just trying to get by in this crazy world. He's in a band. He's lazy. He likes video games.

Scott Pilgrim likes the new girl in town, Ramona Flowers, but to win her heart, he has to defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends. Seven! Evil! Ex! Boyfriends! Lucas has muscles! Todd plays bass with his psychic powers! The Twins are twins! Matthew Patel is an Indian guy! AND MORE!
The official homepage of the books has a whole bunch of previews for (almost) every book plus free specials:

And if reading is not your thing, here's the movie trailer

So who's excited about the final book/the movie?

Movie chat:

Extremely pleased that Edgar Wright is directing the movie but not so much that Michael 'one character actor' Cera is playing Scott. Although he may finally prove himself worthy. Don't get me wrong Cera has been good and I would love an Arrested Development movie but he is grating on me now with the continual skitish loser acting.

Interesting choice of Chris Evans. This guy gets abused endlessly but I actually think he's brilliant. I love Danny Boyle films and Evans is brilliant in Sunshine so it would be cool to him again before he becomes Captain America.

I agree about Evans, given the right material he rocks (Its really a shame that his "breakout" was with the awful Fantastic Four Movies), and his over-the-top grimace and the "He seems nice" line in the trailer was very promising.

Cera though...yeah, early reviews of test screenings say he's pretty good, but it still doesn't sit right with me, given that i see Scott Pilgrim in the comics rather as a loud, extroverted and at least somewhat handsomely looking guy, rather than a typical geekish loser.
But to once again reference the trailer, his action stuff looked surprisingly good.

EDIT: Well, and the rest of the cast seems spot-on, even if Knives looks a bit old in comparison...

To be honest, I saw the trailer for the movie and wasn't too impressed. I think a lot of my distaste came from seeing Michael Cera playing in the same shoes as every other character he does.

I'm not saying it's bad, perhaps I just don't 'get it'.

Ah, now that I saw the trailer again, I remember seeing this preview in the theater not too long ago. It actually did interest me considering it was so different and unique compared to most of the stuff that comes out of hollywood. I didn't originally know that it was based off of a book series, but it does make sense now that I think about it. Almost anything different and unique in the movie industry has usually come from some other medium.

FYI, there is a new trailer online:

Even without being able to watch it with sound, i can guess it fleshes out the story a bit more, ties stronger into the Videogame-Style of the Story, and features over 2 Minutes of Awesome!
