Im making this thread because im wondering if there is any way to repair a game that is scratched. My Fable 2 disc has one fairly large scratch on it and because of that the game is unplayable. The game starts and i only see the lion head company logo then the screen goes white as if trying to load the next company logo. Ive waited for about ten minutes but nothing happens. The weird thing is the game doesnt freeze, im still able to open up my xbox guide and what not. What can i do to fix this other than buying a new copy of the game?

Unfortunately, I've never been able to fix a disc scratch. That's why I buy most of my games off Steam now.

They have liquid that fills in scratches in things like glasses (one of those as-seen-on-TV things; not sure if you can actually trust it) that I would assume would work the same for disks. Movie rental places have a paste type of substance that they use to clean disks too. Some are beyond repair, such as when your 360 tips over while playing the game.

Downloading it to the hard drive doesn't work if it's a big scratch.

It won't be able to read past the scratch.

I used to use something like this to fix ps1/2 games
(not the same one i used but close)
http://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Optical-Disc-Repair-System/dp/B000BZ8PWO

It was a last-resort type thing as they can cause more dmg to the disk. I would use it when the disks wouldn't play anymore meaning that if it worked great if not the disk would have to be tossed anyway

Basically it sands off a few layers of the disk making the scratches uniform so that the dvd drive is able to compensate for it. Don't know how well it would work for the 360 as its really picky about disks. From what I understand high-end resurfacing machines work well (the type that dvd rental stores use) but they run 400$+
