Screen capture software?

Hey guys I'm working on a project and I need to record video from my web browser, do you know of a free software that can do this? The only screen capture software I know it's Fraps and that does not work on the desktop for some reason.

Erm, FRAPS does work from the desktop, it records your current screen. The 2.9.8 release enabled this. Make sure your direct x settings and windows updates are up to date. I'm saying this assuming you're running Vista or 7, if it's XP then that might be your problem, since only Vista and 7 have the DWM functionality that allows desktop recording.

Anyway, there's Cam Studio [http://camstudio.org] as the next best alternative.
