So I have notice that whenever I play a split screen game with my friends if i start doing really good I get accused of Screen hopping, or screen looking whatever you call it.

This really drives me crazy because they always accuse me even if i'm losing.

So I ask to you is screen hopping a stratagy in Split Screen games or is it just something used as an accuse for doing bad?

I know that my nephews do it, ALL 3 OF THEM! People definitely sneak a peek. I know I have once or twice to end a killstreak a couple of times.

I can't help it! I always see what my opponent does, whether I'm looking or not.

Screen peeking isn't so much of an issue these days because developers have decided their games are too worthy for local multiplayer!
The only split-screen games I ever see are co-op ones.

As for myself, I don't tend to screen-peak.
(But if the situation turns really unfair, (like 3 against 1 on resistance while I was drunk, (the bigger irony was that I was winning! XD), I'll do it to balance things a little)

You can't not see it, LOL. Your subconscious always knows. Splitscreen games have to be designed assuming the players will look so it doesn't ruin the game.

Whenever I do split screen, you have my brother who tells us not to do it when he probably does it the most but can't admit it. If I get caught screen cheating, I will tell the person I am screen cheating instead of denying it like a ***** and then telling everyone else to stop doing it.

I never thought of it as something I should avoid. The person I am playing with can do it as well, it will just come down to who knows the map better, in the end.

Pfff... if you can see the world through your enemy's eyes, but choose not to, you must be stupid.

It's a dumb crutch they lean on to justify their crappiness, anyone who says they don't look at the other player's view during split screen is a liar, you cannot avoid it, it's a physiological impossibilty.

I once got accused of that playing SWAT 4 on a LAN, he was in a seperate freaking room! The reality was I was just walking about shooting anything that looked at me funny, a highly effective tactic, only curtailed when I ran out of ammo.

It's impossible not to see it, since it's on the same screen.
The only problem I have with it is that I sometimes forget I'm controlling the guy/car/whatever on the other side of the screen.

I can't not watch the other screen. It's in my vision. Even if I'm focusing on what's going on with me I'll still register what's going on.

And that's why, I too, prefer LAN in which you can't watch each other's screens. All the fun of playing with your friends, none of the screen watching.

It's not like I mean to it's just there. So yeah I'm watchin' the entire tv. Hell just last night I got completely buggered and thought his screen was mine.

I had one friend in particular that would do this crap all the time. We used to call it spidey sense, because everytime you lined up the crosshair on his head he would start moving around.

We eventually just arranged our LAN parties so that only same teams shared a screen.

Same here. I'll always be accused of screen looking when I'm doing amazingly. Pisses me off, ya know?
