I seem to be getting a lot of screen tearing in certain areas in Deus Ex (the first level for example), and it's really annoying. It's not really normal screen tearing though, it's screen tearing with thick black lines where the tears are.

Not really sure what to do about it, and I'd like to see if anyone knows what settings to change to get rid of it.

PC specs:

Intel Core i5-480M 2.66GHz
AMD Radeon HD 6550M
4GB DDR3 Memory
1600x900 resolution

The current settings I'm running the game with:

Anti-Aliasing x4
Trilinear filtering
Refresh rate 60Hz
Shaders on high
V-sync on
Directx 11 on

Thanks for any help on the matter, I'm really enjoying the game so far, but this screen tearing can be very distracting at times.

There is a few options here as your computer seems as though it'd be just fine running the game.

1. Try the latest drivers for your video-card. If you're on the latest drivers, see if there are people who are having similar issues on any games, and see what fixed it(if it did get fixed).

2. Play around with the settings. I'd guess shaders would be the first thing to mess around with. This is a bit lengthy to do because of how load times are on the game(which at this point, is my only real complaint about the game).

Like Schizo said, update your drivers and play around with the graphic settings and see if that helps at all.

If not it may be a game issue and wait on a hotfix.

As far as your spec goes it should run it smooth enough.

I know this may seem like a really stupid point to make and you have probably already done it but run the game at the same resolution as your desktop. Like I said I know it's stupid and most people do that anyway but you'd be surprised how many people don't and have a slight graphical hiccup because of it.

Edit-

Seems it may be a game issue then. Could just be a case of waiting for a hotfix patch.

According to forums they are trying to fix issues as quickly as they can.

Keep them working on them, we get the game in the UK on Friday and we want all the bugs gone.

Work little test bunnies work ... mwahahaha

Huh, yeah, messing with the SSOD is the only thing I didn't try in the settings (mostly because I have no idea what SSOD is). Guess I should try that.
