Yeah, the game is a mess. Boring gameplay, awful gunplay, bad optimisation, lack of visual options, missing sounds, etc.
It looks damn nice tho. It has that H.R.Giger/Beksinski feel to it.

Outlast 2 reminds me of F.E.A.R for some reason

Yeah some of the games aesthetics are pretty alike, especially the school parts.
