While I disagree with the decision to not go to the senior prom (I thought I wouldn't until I found a girl that I'm taking there), I have to admit, using that money with your friends to do something completely different and cool is definitely commendable in its awesomeness. While I don't have ideas, I can at least salute you.

One thing ive always wanted to do, and i suggest you do as well, if you are old enough to drive, and another person is, get both cars, go to a car park or somewhere deserted. Buy a lot of water guns or some form of non lethal and non damaging gun and do drivebys at each other.
That's actually pretty cool... bubble wrap the bumper and doors and we're good to go...

if any of us had cars, that is.

funny but true story - during the last month of high school i was going out with a lovely girl from leeds who liked all the same stuff as i did and had a great time with, the morning after prom i was supposed to meet her parents or something so i promised her i wouldn't drink or stay out too late

SO got my tux got my hair cut etc got limo to prom with my friends, prom was boring as fuck and i got asked to an after party but declined cos of my gal, anyhoo got home checked my e-mails and i got one from her saying she didn't wanna see me no more....reason? my hair looked different :/

completely missed out on a sweet end of high school party

i would suggest get friends together and get wasted....maybe on a boat?
Aww... that's not funny! That's sad! : (

Anyway, I heard it's not exactly safe to drink-and-sail...

I went stag to my senior prom and went home straight afterwards.

The best I could say is that there was free, all-you-could-eat ice cream.

I'd go to a wicked arcade with laser tag and have an awesome time that way.

But to each their own.

I love Laser tag...
Then again, I think I support this idea.

My senior prom was a big yawn. Seriously, proms are glorified school dances, so why they're so popular I will never understand. Spend that money on stuff you and your friends think is awesome. I dunno what you like, so I really can't say much. I just wanted to say prom sucks too ^_^.

Dude? Go to prom.

You can have the craziest party of you life THE VERY NEXT DAY. And then another THE DAY AFTER.

You can't really have another prom.

There is no point is missing it.
Convince me that I'm going to miss something important at prom.

And why I shouldn't have 3 crazy parties in a row.

I didn't goto my senior prom either. We had one hell of a party, legendary in fact.

We played a fine, simple game I think was first demonstrated by American fighter pilots.

Two teams, each with a similar piano, an old upright can be purchased for next to nothing, a toilet seat suspended between two trees or poles by four cords so that it?s held firmly in place and a sledge hammer. The object for each team is to demolish their piano and all the pieces shoved through their toilet seat. First team to accomplish that feat wins.

Obviously since you now have these two shredded pianos you?ve got to burn the remains. The victor gets to light the fire. The game can be played for a keg, cost of the party or anything agreed upon.

Plus loads of drinking during your piano burn will ensure an amazing night never to be forgotten. Enjoy!

So my friends and I have decided to set up a "Screw Prom Budget", with each of us contributing what would be our prom fee ($180)
Edit: I found a few paper-scribblings:
-rent a pickup, put tarp in the back... jacuzzi?
In the united states you can't rent equipment unless you're 21 in most states and cars until you're 25.
Secondly, Holy shit what are they doing for your prom?
Ours was like I think $14 a ticket and it was in an aircraft museum. And post-prom carnival was like I think $6 a ticket. I paid for everything but my date's dress and I don't think even after dinner and prophylactics spent even $180. Damn

You could buy some games for your console or PC or spend it on...

I bet you could afford and hour and fifty minutes!

Mmm, bonfire!

Although I do have a problem with smashing pianos and other musical instruments.

The slipe and slide/water gun fight sounds like fun. Alternatively, you could play paint ball... I played it and it was pretty fun.

You don't really understand my point.

You should rather explain to me why you shouldn't go to prom, but rather have a party that you could have any other day on the rest of your life.

a) the people in my school talk about the post-prom party without any supervision,
b) I'm sure I can think of better ways to spend $180 to celebrate the end of high school, and c) prom isn't very important to me.
What exactly am I missing out on by not going to prom?

Haha, when I first read the thread title I thought it said "Screw Porn", and now I'm thuroughly disappointed...
Yeah me too.

OT: Get drunk on cheap booze and go to a local theater and heckle. When they try to kick you out say you payed good money for your tickets and you aren't leaving. Bring a camera.

Yeah, about paintball...

we came to the conclusion that having sex with aching and painful body parts is not very fun.

It's a part of the high school experience that everyone should be a part of. I know plenty of people that didn't go, and now regret doing so.
