What's the deal with hand hearts?? I've been seeing them everywhere lately and I'm wondering what started this fad. Does it have some other significant meaning or does it just stand for "heart" or "love"?

Personally, I don't like it. It makes girls seem childish and men seem off.

For those who don't understand, the hand(s) heart is making a "c" with your each hand and putting them together, thus creating a heart.

But thats hand-binoculars, not a hand heart.

Its not even in the shape of a heart. Neither a real heart, or a "<3" heart.

OP means when you stretch the thumbs a bit more, it roughly (roughly being the keyword here) resembles a <3 heart.

OT: It's kinda dumb, but harmless, so I see no reason for complaining about it.

My guess, it was started 5 years ago by emo, deaf teens. Then hipsters caught on and here we are. /derp

Who cares anyway? People do way more annyoing things like make "the last_____ you ______ed is going to ________" threads.

I've only ever seen footballers do it, I think.

My guess is it's something to do with twitter, these mundane things always seem to originate from there.

That wouldn't be a "c", it would be an "o". Imagine the "c" if your thumbs had a stroke.

I stopped using it years ago, but I meant it as "nothing but love" when I said something that could be construed as insulting/offensive to good friends. Basically saying:"I'm telling you the truth about an unpleasant aspect of your personality and hope that you understand I'm trying to be constructive, because it's become clear to me you're not aware of your own behaviour." See how long that is? That's why hand heart was easier. But I stopped doing that once I stopped being 16, so that may not be what you're referring to.

I actually enjoy that in the same way where it'd be like, "I had sex with your sister but here's a pop tart."

First person I saw making the hand hearts was Matthew Lush (YouTube him) about 5 years ago (I think). Had never saw it before him so I'm guessing I may be close to source there?
