TLDR: Should I use Magnetic/non magnetic screwdrivers for computers.

Hello Escapist, I once again need help/advice with computers, specifically, screwdrivers.
I am in the market of buying a new screwdriver on the cheap( ~5 dollars), but i am concerned on the advantage/disadvantage of a magnetic screwdriver. I heard that magnetic and computers is a no no, but as the same time, dropping screws on the mother board can also be bad. So do i risk damaging the Motherboard/other components using a magnetic screwdriver, or risk damaging the motherboard with dropped screws. I use a anti static strip by the way.

Yeah your fine using a magnetic screwdriver, I always do without issue. Your more likely to cause damage dropping and fishing around for screws using a non-magnetic screwdriver. The HDD is pretty much the only magnet sensitive component in computers nowadays and the magnetic shielding they have is way beyond sufficient to protect from the very weak magnets in screwdrivers.
