Yeah. the game was fun for about an hour and then the controls had me tossing the cartridge out the window (metaphorically).

So if the game is improved control wise I would give it a chance.

As a side note I actually thought the article title was "Scribblenauts Sequel planned for Fail.

Oh my god, new, better controls?! This game will be fucking awesome.

I tried to type in "Better controls" in the first, but it came up with "Butter conformist".

Maybe this time you'll be able to put in actually name-for-name gods. I'd love to see Odin versus Zeus to finally figure out who's better.

Wait, I'm confused. People thought Scribblenauts was good? It was a novelty, but it was pretty boring. Puzzles were either infuriatingly difficult or plain boring, and free roam mode was... horribly boring, after about 10 minutes.
Wait I'm confused, people thought their opinion was the only one that existed?

well, I'm still a bit iffy. while the idea of Scribblenauts is awesome, the execution was meh. most notably to me at least was due to the controls. now the article says they are improving them, but ill have to play a demo before I make any judgments.

Wait... now not only can I have Cthulhu fight Satan, but now I could have a purple overweight Cthulhu fight a yellow cowboy Satan? My dreams have come true...

I doubt it will be that specific, though. It's going to be very hard to do this and I hope they can pull it off.

I've seen worse games with worse sales get sequels, so it doesn't surprise me too much. Still, hard to be hyped about Scribblenauts after the first one failed horribly at living-up to the hype. Sort of a "Fool me once" thing. I'm certainly going to wait and see what people say about the second one before I even consider picking it up.

Am I the only one who accidentally read the title as "Scribblenauts sequel planned for fail"?

Hah! With the new adjectives system maybe you could make a "butter conformist".

But yeah I was looking forward to that as well as I am a big mythology buff. What would be more awesome that a tournament between the various gods of war. Ares in the first one makes a machine gun.

No you are not. I read it as "Planned for Falling" at least once, then it turned to "Failing."

Oh, THAT Fall...
CALL IT AUTUMN AND STOP AVOIDING COMPLEX SPELLING

Anyway, I have no real opinion on this, not having a DS and all. Scribblenauts is a good idea, but it seems kinda badly done.

I still smile every time I think about how how I made a communist and a capitalist fight (the communist won, the capitalist just tried to run away with his money)

I thought Scribblenauts had excellent potential, but it was let down by the terrible controls and the boring puzzles (rope/unicorn/black hole). If this post is anything to go by, 5th Cell are at least aware of the criticism, so hopefully they'll be able to fix it.

Sweet! I can't wait! I have no problem chastising companies for making pointless sequels, however this is one game where I welcome a sequel. Scribblenauts was a fantastic concept, and the core concept itself was executed really well. The game just had some (fairly serious) control issues and suffered from bland level design overall. But the idea was so unique and novel that there was bound to be issues. New ideas should absolutely be iterated and improved upon.

Like I said, boss god versus boss god. Zeus, Odin, God, Buddha, the leader of the Hindu gods, (Is it Vishnu? I wanna say Vishnu) and Paul McCartney. Yes, he qualifies as a god.

I do hope we have some copyrighted material. I'd like to see Mario eat a fire flower, light a candle, heat the water, scare the goldfish into jumping and hitting the pebble, pebble falls down slide, hits chainsaw button, chainsaw cuts tree, tree falls on goblin, goblin drops starite, Maxwell gets starite. I could just shoot the goblin, but I'm going to assume the goblin was something we weren't allowed to kill directly even though we weren't told that.
