Second MW2 Map Pack Announced

The second pack is called "Resurgence"
It will feature 2 CoD 4 maps, Vacant and Strike, plus three new ones called Carnival, Fuel and Trailer Park. The price is still a whopping $15.
It is hitting XBL first on June 3rd

Well, yet another map pack I won't buy.

I don't see the big controversy over the $15 price tag, though. Just don't buy it. I didn't buy it, and I've been playing MW2 fine ever since. Just played this morning, actually! And I'm locked out of a whopping 2 playlists. Shucks. The game is ruined.

Personally from what I saw of the first map pack I'm not impressed. Though truth be told I wasn't impressed with the game in general, I traded it in a few days ago to gain moneys for Red Dead. Still, if your a big fan of MW2 I'm guessing it will be a good buy.

What a rip off! $15 for two remakes and three new maps is extortionate - never should that be considered a "good buy"! I mean, if it had new weapons or perks or something, but just for a few maps? They're just milking the lack of facility for fan-made maps on the PC, cynical asshats.

So thats a $90 game?, I'd rather stick with KillZone and Far Cry 2.

KillZone is a bad example since its map packs actually cost money but my word, thats awful, I grew up in a World where map packs where not chargable, where a whole new gameplay hook was free, I say stand up to these oppressors and demand free map packs, DEMAND GAMEPLAY TYPES FOR FREE

I remember a time when the online community was not segragated, when we could gather together and meet each other to chat other battles, a time when having a particular download was irrelevant because we were one and the same

You do realise that they're merging the maps with normal playlists, right? So you'll be kicked from any game which uses new ones.

How so? I swear people just like to complain about anything that is MW2. Would you prefer them to make you pay for more modes?

Or they could, y'know, give us value for money and throw a new game mode in with it.

Hmm vacant? It's weird that they would choose that one. It was one of the most often skipped levels when I play CoD4 (I'm a ground war guy, so maybe that's the issue...it's pretty small for ground war). Though Crash was a bad choice as it's easy to pin a team back by "A" in domination, so nothing surprises me. Strike is one of my favorite so that is good. I know the haters will hate, but I'm looking forward to it. I was hoping for the missile silo though.

Because I wasn't getting punted from games enough. That's alright I've moved on to BC2 anyways. At least it's servers are slightly more reliable.

You are getting 5 maps, 2 of which are from Cod4 (You know, The one everyone praises?) and 3 new ones. They don't need to throw in another mode.

No, I'd be happy that for my £12 they'd be handing over more then 2 ports and 3 fresh maps.
The old maps dont even play that well any more, crash has turned into 'nade launcher rape due to its design and lack of size although overgrown had worked out reasonably well.

If not a new game mode, perhaps a new gun? New models? New perks? Fuck, I'd even go for new achievements, anything which would stop me from thinking "this is a complete ripoff".

I'm sure at some stage they'll be bundled together for a reduced price. Might get them then. Haven't had the time to play MW2 online in a while, but looking forward to getting back once my exams are done.

Because I have never been kicked from a game. I've never had problems finding a match, getting into a match, or staying in the same lobby for an extended period of time through multiple map rotations.

Do you not remember the whole Bad Company 1 fiasco with EA charging people for guns? It failed hard, New Models? Seriously? You'd get more hate on forums than there already is. New Perks...which we do not need, The game is already fucked because of these little bastards. And if you really need new Achievements to make something feel like it isn't a rip off then that's just plain stupid.

Bad Company 2 just got DLC for Camouflaged weapons and I don't see anyone bitching about that. Why? Because it isn't MW2.

There is way too much unjustifiable hate towards MW2.

Bad Company 2 has also had two free map packs.

Does not having camouflaged weapons kick you from certain servers? Does not having it stop you from playing with other people who do? Oh, so there's no compulsion to buy it in order to keep playing the game properly then?


I'm not saying have seperate DLC just for these small bonuses, just include them in the map packs to give people an incentive to not think it's a complete fucking ripoff. Think of it as the shitty plastic toy which comes with your happy meal.

And once more they announce 2 COD4 maps that I don't like. Well they're fine, I just have a strong feeling of "meh" towards them.

It will be funny when this sells like hotcakes, then everyone else jacks up prices.

And if it's anything like the way Halo handled it's online playlists after multiple map-releases, I'll be fine.
