*chuckles*, Not for $15. I love the MW games but I just feel I've outgrown them. Plus, I've never paid for a map pack in my life - they just don't represent anywhere near the value that I expect for shelling out that amount of money. I'm sure they would if I were someone who thought they would, if you see what I mean. I'm just not.

I downloaded 26 TF2 maps for free this morning, not a chance in hell I'd pay the amount of an indy game for 5 maps.

And I seriously hope you don't either before everyone starts charging stupid amounts for such minor content.

Hmm I could play $15 for 5 maps which would keep me entertained for about an hour, or I could buy a cheap 2nd hand game for which I'll get hours of entertainment.

I wasn't impressed by the 1st map pack, which I played at my cousins house, its unlikely I'll bother paying for this.

At least they haven't attempted to sell you maps from the last Map Pack.

Still no Crossfire? Am I the only person who really liked that map?

I believe if I were the kids of today, I'd say that this map was 'boss'.

And I'm locked out of a whopping 2 playlists. Shucks. The game is ruined.
You do realise that they're merging the maps with normal playlists, right? So you'll be kicked from any game which uses new ones.
Are they doing that now, or will they be doing that?
Because I have never been kicked from a game. I've never had problems finding a match, getting into a match, or staying in the same lobby for an extended period of time through multiple map rotations.
The "new" maps have been in TDM and other rotations since they launched. If 1 person in the lobby doesn't have them, it simply wont come up. You'll never get kicked from a lobby for not having them. Everyone else just wont get to play them because you don't have them. Considering how horrible the new maps are, you'd be doing them a favor.

Oh, well there you go!
I hardly feel bad for exercising my right as a consumer to not buy something.
So the game still plays fine, and I don't have to buy anything!
That was an easy choice.

That's one 15 quid I won't be spending.

No matter how good the advertising is, I won't fall for it this time!

Seeing as IW fucked up the PC multiplayer, I don't see any point in rewarding them for it. I haven't touched MW2 since bad company 2 came out and probably wont ever again. Bugged as hell BC2 may be, DICE at least know how to make a good multiplayer shooter for PC.

But then you would be complaining that they are charging you for a game mode.

You are getting 5 maps, 2 of which are from Cod4 (You know, The one everyone praises?) and 3 new ones. They don't need to throw in another mode.
No, I'd be happy that for my £12 they'd be handing over more then 2 ports and 3 fresh maps.
The old maps dont even play that well any more, crash has turned into 'nade launcher rape due to its design and lack of size although overgrown had worked out reasonably well.

If not a new game mode, perhaps a new gun? New models? New perks? Fuck, I'd even go for new achievements, anything which would stop me from thinking "this is a complete ripoff".
Do you not remember the whole Bad Company 1 fiasco with EA charging people for guns? It failed hard, New Models? Seriously? You'd get more hate on forums than there already is. New Perks...which we do not need, The game is already fucked because of these little bastards. And if you really need new Achievements to make something feel like it isn't a rip off then that's just plain stupid.

Bad Company 2 just got DLC for Camouflaged weapons and I don't see anyone bitching about that. Why? Because it isn't MW2.

There is way too much unjustifiable hate towards MW2.
the camo guns are literally just camo'd versions of normal ones (exception is a lower-RoF, slightly higher damage MG-3, same TTK, so its still balanced, but there goes the cool trait of the gun, its RoF)
and much of the BC2 community do want some DLC weapons, so this was relatively welcome.
also, because of community response, they didn't do that buying guns in BC1, they made said guns just lvl 25 unlocks, and that was very nice, some rather cool guns.
they listened to the community, not just sales figures/profits.
DICE are bro devs, IW are cocky bastards. MW2 is special, it has justifiable hate.

Which gametypes are they going to mash together in this one? HQ Pro and Free-For-All? Search and Destroy and Domination? It's going to be pretty bad, anyway.

First of all, the multiplayer for that game is broken so I really don't care. Second, even if it wasn't, fifteen bucks is an outragous price that only continues to confirm to me (not that I needed more evidence) that Activision and Bobby Kotick are greedy fucks. I also didn't give a shit about the first map pack for the same reasons.

I never played MW1 so all these maps are new to me. I have it on PS3 so we have only just got the stim package, crash is okay, I haven't noticed much nade spam.

Overgrown is the worst map on the whole of MW2 (especially for TDM), you can never find anybody. Snipers dominate the map, so it always winds up as everybody camped up and lil ol' me running from building to building killing people, the problem being I can't move quick enough.

I love the other maps though, I prefer the smaller, tighter, faster paced maps. Small maps means less camping and alot more exciting.

Which means I am going to hate fuel.

So 4 old maps and 6 new ones for 30$?
Why don't they just rape me with a rasp while they're at it. It's not worth it what-so-ever.
Well, maybe if they'd remove tactical insertion, commando and killstreaks, but... meh...

If they actually believe I'll pay 15 for a map pack that contains only 3 new maps then they're crazy. The sheeple will buy it like warm bread however.

I didn't buy the first one and won't buy the second one. Not even if they were at the price of any other DLC.

Activision may be greedy bastards but they're a business and do what most other businesses do when their product is in high demand. They take advantage of that by bumping up the price. The consumers will still buy it because they want it and therefore it's pretty much their fault, even if they are manipulated by advertising and hype.
