Look at a map. Pretty well every former Warsaw Pact member except Ukraine and Belarus are now part of NATO. If Ukraine someday joins NATO too, Russia will be basically isolated across its entire western border. The notion that Russia, even if led by Putin, would go to war with any NATO member is ridiculous fear-mongering. The Cold War is over.Evil Smurf said:

Where are they going to go without declaring war on all of NATO? Nobody, even Putin, would make the decision to start WW3 and potentially set off mutually assured destruction via nuclear arsenals.
