Firefly, gone from the air, but not from our hearts. We miss you.

I almost didn't get past that bit... but I agree, this would have been useful to know around the time we lost Firefly. We could have saved the Captain! DX

*starts crying over the injustice of, well, everything*
Don't worry, the Captain can likely pull off some Thrillin' Heroics all by himself.

Ah, Firefly. I have recalled its untimely demise, and now have the sad.
Indeed...Although, gotta admit it got a movie at least which is more than usually happens for cancelled series!

Glee is a gay show....and it needs to be canceled...and FAST!

They called the awesome new Knight Rider which I am STILL mad as hell about....they cut ENTERPRISE which again was an excellent show and Firefly is gone.

Critics are retards IMHO. They get shows cut that do not deserve it.

Thanks for the tips though.

Can someone tell me what the heck is Glee?
Trust me on this....you REALLY do not want to know. Lots of gayness in it.

a great example of this(pre-saving a show) is at work with the building hype for HBO's Game of Thrones. The show is still about a year away from airing, but it's been getting steady coverage since last year..even before they filmed the pilot.

hopefully this early hype doesn't run out of steam by the time it actually comes out, but this level of pre-release support is fairly unprecedented.

Firefly isn't underrated though last I heard, the show just costs a lot of money to make.
what? It's ratings were terrible. Firefly got shown in the wrong order and had it's timeslot changed on a weekly basis and was barley advertised. so the ratings were bad because the network didn't want it watched. Obviously they thought they were getting another buffy. *rolleyes*
Thats what they did with Futurama.

Thank god Adult Swim picked that up and helped bring it back...

OT: If only I knew this back when Toonami was on the air. We just might have been able to save it and stop cartoon network from showing crap like CN Real, Destroy Build Destroy, and Dude What Would Happen. Don't even get me started on Fried Dynamite...

Actually the story I heard was that Joss Whedon was in battles with the networks over creative control of his visions. He wanted to write things his way, and cast who he wanted in his shows.

While not directly involving "Firefly" (obviously) according to rumor things came to a head for Joss with the last season of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer". While never very vocal there were accusations that the show was too "whitebread" and that they needed to put more minorities into the show in general, and give them an active role. This lead to an unusual amount of time being given to a certain fairly dumpy looking black "potential slayer" and a certain African American principal who was allegedly never intended for the show among other things. Joss pretty much doing this under duress. The character "Gunn" in Angel was also allegedly something that the networks forced him to create and give time to.

Don't misunderstand, nobody seriously accused Joss Whedon of racism or anything, it's mostly a matter of bean counters trying to say what they wanted in their show to try and increase viewership, or head off rumors, or whatever else.

"Firefly" was pretty much being gutted/sabotaged as it was made due to politics. It wasn't under any direct criticism, and included a cast Joss Whedon wanted... however at this point he had irritated those in power. Apparently when Joss departed the thing was that he was (allegedly) never going to work on TV again.

People need to start doing this for Caprica I fear. The ratings have not been kind.
I'd sign up for that, I love me some Caprica.
Although slow at the start, I enjoyed the build up of Caprica. I think it's a solid show, everyone needs to set aside the expectation that it's going to be BSG 2 in nature.

Also... too late to bring back Arrested Development?
Yea. I wish I had known this (and had the time) to save Arrested Development.
I do hear they're making an Arrested Development movie.

The thing is, if someone's going to go through all that trouble and try and call attention, why wouldn't they do it with an IP of their own?

Can we write a letter to tell him how stupid the name "Syfy" is? Or how putting Wrestling on isn't what a SCIENCE FICTION channel is supposed to be about?

Oh wait, we already did that...

Agreed.

Don't get me started on this season. Psycho Claire, nothing going on that doesn't somehow relate to fake Locke, the only part of the season I'm liking at the moment is the AU idea. Sadly I'm beginning to wonder if they've set it up to be the place for all the happy endings

Speaking to everyone talking about Firefly, I hadn't even heard of it until a couple of friends and I watched the entire series in one night. I would've definitely helped save that show.

I wish I'd seen this when it came to Pushing Daisies. You were too young D:
