Section 8: Prejudice

So, earlier today, a game called Section 8: Prejudice [http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Section-8-Prejudice/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258410b45] was released for the Xbox 360 and PC.

And guess how much it costs?

$15 USD (1200MSP).

And what do you get for $15 USD?

An amusing if a bit repetitive 6-9 campaign (it took me about 7 hours to beat it on Hard), a full 32 multiplayer experience (with both player and dedicated servers!), Swarm, a 4-player Tower Defense+Horde Mode combine, and the promise of more gametypes on the way. It also has full bot support, in case you don't want to play against other people.

And I might add, that it is a finely balanced, fun multiplayer experience to boot. As in "one of the best on the market right now". As in "Timegate cribs their balance notes from Valve" good.

Its not the prettiest game around, but its still functional, and Mechs + Dropping in on fools = awesome. Its a bit like Crysis meets Battlefield meets Counter-Strike.

And for $15, its damn good. Think about it; for $15, you're a full game, as compared to 3 maps (CoD), or just a single-player or multiplayer component.

Did I mention its fun? Like, really fun?

A game wasn't the first thing that popped in my head when I saw the title of the thread, but this is a pleasant suprise. Still, I have no idea what this game is, but I'll look into it. is it just on the xbox?

Personally I played Section 8 on single player ages ago and got so incredibly bored of it I stopped playing it. The whole "fly in from space" thing was cool the first time, but then they insisted on taking ages falling down, either giving no or very little movement at all, rendering it completely useless, then making you run for 10 minutes to get back to where you died. The customization, which is apparently the same for MP(never tried it) was laughable to say the least. Apparently people loved it, I dont get it personally.

They sped up how fast you fall during the intital stage of the drop, and made it so you can air brake sooner and control your landing area more.

And I'd say the Customization is just fine. You get to choose your armor style (and you get a pretty nice White Aegis Armor if you played the first Section 8 online), your two weapons and your passive abilities.

Thats a lot.

Thanks op for telling these people about this great game. Everyone should try this out! Download the trial and you can play the multiplayer 30 minutes, buy it or don't but the first 30mins will be enjoyable for anyone.

The first Section 8 was a bit of a lost gem. Me and my mate played it quite a lot at Uni in split-screen and loved it. I'll have to have a look at this little beast.

I got the first Section 8 for my birthday, I played through the campaign and then played a bit of multi-player before finally dropping it. I can't say I was completely blown away but I found the multiplayer to be pretty fun, that said it suffered the problem of most multiplayer games where you can't get anyone to work together. I did like the mini missions you could start in multi player matches, I felt like they were a nice touch. For $15? Hell I've spent more money on worse things, I'll probably pick up prejudice.

The first Section 8 wasn't worth its $60 price tag, but this one is worth far more then $15.
It is fantastic.
