So I was trolling a friend of mine on Facebook (who totally bailed on us) and long story short, he hacked pretty much every account that means anything to me on a regular basis (and yes, that includes The Escapist).

Being the total ***** that he is, he let me know that he has all my passwords on a NotePad document and refuses to let me know where the flaw in my security lies. The only hint that he gave me is that it has something to do with my iPhone and the passwords stored on it.

Of course it was a harmless joke, but the fact of the matter is I have to change pretty much every password I have now. And that could take a while.

The other issue is that he could just as easily do it again, and anyone for that matter can. So I was wondering if anyone knows anything about what's going on here. Can anyone help by telling me what he did, how he did it and how to fix it?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Did he in any way have access to your iPhone even it it was only for a short amount of time?

Also, if your iPhone is jailbroken it is actually very easy for them to get access to the keychain where all of your passwords are stored. If your phone is not jailbroken, they could have easily done it in a matter of minutes with access to the phone and another device with all of the necessary software like a laptop. All of this can also be done without ever unlocking the phone.

It is not jailbroken, no. Do you know how to access the keychain? How do I stop him from reaching it?

The flaw in your security is leaving him alone, even briefly, with your technology, your iPhone in this case. Unless you actually take measures to protect it, any device you enter your passwords on can be cracked with relative ease, and the passwords stolen.

How do I undo whatever he did to it?

Well, I don't know what he did to it, but unless he installed something to make it send your passwords to him, you should be fine if you don't leave him alone with it. If he still manages to get your passwords without getting near your technology, get someone knowledgeable in this stuff to check your iPhone.

Okay.

As an aside, do you know how I can access/delete/disable my keychain? A little might go a long way here.

I'm not too familiar with the iPhone, sorry. Try googling it, I guess.
