The more games I see coming from Japan the more I think there's a very subtle nation-wide perversion in that country. Or maybe not that subtle.

How is there a market for these games
See Also: Love+
Love+ is yet another creepy game to add to this creep genre. I find it a little perplexing to want a digital girlfriend.
There was also that PSP game that made waves a while back where you spank demon girls for being sinners, or some such thing.

Photo Girlfriend, or as I like to call it "Anime Tropes Everywhere"! Seriously, each of these girls in the game remind me of the various stereotypical female characters you'll find in anime nowadays: meganekko, busty moe, uber serious, spunky and energetic, personalitiless (if that's even a word). Seriously Japan, learn some new anime tropes!

I'd prefer my Photo-girlfriend to be a little more developed

There's one thing I like about this game: the girls are at least realistically attractive. No weird hair, no giant boobs or butts, the eye and hair colors are natural. And those are actually some nice PSP graphics.

Can't really judge this game as this is the type of thing they love over there and we have to remember they have a massively different culture to the rest of the world, not sure why they're releasing over here though, seems a bit pointless as it will only sell for the lulz.

It's a very impressive game mechanic, and the 3D models are surprisingly gorgeous. This dating sim is no more disturbing than every other one out there, especially the ones on the internet. It is by no means a bad genre, but it is marred like every other one in vidoe gaming. Regardless of what everybody says, this stuff sells like crazy in Japan, and it has its own market in just about every country its available in.

Now, would I pay 30-40 bucks for a game like this? Probably not. I could think of a few better games to spend that money on, and honestly, if I wanted to look at scantily clad anime chicks, I'd bring up google and type in "scantily clad anime chicks." They'd come up by the hundreds.

What is this...I don't even---
It looks good, I'll give it that, but really? I find the school girls a bit disturbing.

*Shrug* Could be better. Could be worse.

I kinda wanna know what the japanese obsession with highschool girls is though. If you're hard up for rendering locales how about setting a dating game in an office or something? I dunno. Would it really hurt to move further away from the youth realm?

... Okay... whatever... it's just a dating sim with a silly little gimmick. Why exactly is this news?

I was going to make a "Japan why are you so disturbing comment"

But than I realised that some very sad people will actually buy this.
Dude if you find this is disturbing do not delve into the world of dating sims, especially where they cross over with hentai games.

"Dude, so, what are you playing?" *Friend looks at your psp* "Right....."

Japanese games can be creative, I'll give them that, but that's just disturbing.
These games never sell to more than a very niche market in the west, but hopefully it'll keep a couple off rapists of the street at least. Not that I'm saying people who play these games are rapists, but consider how games like this are so popular in Japan and it also happens to have one of the worlds smallest rape rates.[/i]

Heh, sorta like how violent games help to decrease violence, since why go out and do it in real life when you can legaly do it in a virtual world?

Youth is appealing to one who's lost it.
