I would rather play GTA 1 on my Android. (Sentimental value)(<= I mean the game, not the Android)
The glossy screen in this video is a real pain though. Try playing the game when you have sunlight interupted by tree-cover while sitting in a train or car.

I would kind of expect the game to be able to run on this, it has been a while since the last ps2 slim was made and that thing was about the size of an ipad, I just wouldn't like the control screen. What can I say i'm a bit of a purist.

Looks worse than the PS2 version, was there a nuclear meltdown nearby? The streets almost seemed to be a ghost town.

Anyway, kudos for getting on the iPad and iPhone 4S, there are now even more reasons to carry a 5KG battery pack with you.

Yay it can play old games! Its not like I have an emulator or a 3DS or anythi-OH WAIT WE ALL DO. Its nice to know apple thinks they can compete with the non casual gamer market. Good thing Steve Jobs died so their marketing wont be so 'IN YO FACE MICROSOFT', actually, it might get worse, idk. To put it shortly, what the hell is the point of an ipad over a gaming computer/laptop or even a regular laptop? If apple can answer that (which it cant) then I might listen to wtf bullshit they introduce every week.

A handheld, open-world crime simulator sounds like fun, doesn't it?

There are actually a few for iOS already. GTA: Chinatown Wars is a great game, regardless of platform, and in spite of the top-down perspective. Gameloft's Gangstar series has plenty of flaws, but they've got the open world thing down pat. Payback might not be quite as polished or sophisticated as any of the others, but has garnered quite a lot of praise over the years.

That said, the upcoming GTA does look like it will win the graphical contest by walk-over. Remains to be seen if it can challenge Chinatown Wars in gameplay and pure fun...

Good to see some proper games are getting out, but why did they go and port the worst GTA... I guess next to those flash games it will still be the shit.

When you say "Those Flash games" are you referring to the recent development of getting games like Team Fortress 2 on Flash or do you still think the best game on the iPad is Angry Birds?

This is probably a dumb question, but will it be available for the iPod Touch as well?

If I remember correctly from the official Rockstar post on Facebook, it will only be for the iPad and iPhone 4S (so no other iDevices, not even the iPhone 4 or 3GS).
