I'm want to get back playing my megadrive for some retro gaming but I cant find my mains adapter.

Been offered one but I don't know whether it was for a Megadrive 1 or 2. Does anyone know if the mains adapters were different?

I'm pretty sure they were the same. I'm not 100% positive though.

I think the only differences in the 2 versions of the system where in the sound output, and cosmetic stuff, like a missing headphone jack in the front of one, and so on.

I'm not too sure either. Wiki does mention that it has 'Smaller power connector and different AC adapter used'

dont remember the mega drive having an adapter. Thought it was a standard plug like the CD players of the day.

Hmmm. I had the model 2, and I've honestly never taken a look at how the model 1's things look, other than the actual console's casing. I remember with my GameGear, it said any Megadrive adapter would work in place of batteries as a power source. So I assume they either only have the same part where they connect to the system, or they are universal between the models.

MegaDrive eh? I got me a Megadrive-II set up here, I love me that thing. If you want to save time effort, and gain the abillity to play all regions of MD games, grab the remake one. I first saw it about a week ago for $50AUD, just sitting on the shelf in a store. It's called the Firecore or the Blaze in most countries.
