Nope, 3 different current gen consoles + PC is more than enough platforms to have to choose between already.

Not really. They're entrenched pretty deeply with the other companies now, and they probably find their jobs a lot easier without having to worry about competing. I'd actually rather that there only was one system for which all companies made games. Anyone could make a system, but they'd all play all other games. Kind of like DVD players. It doesn't matter which one you get, they all play the same DVDs.

Are you crazy? Heck no. They're much better at producing games then they are systems. ...or at least they used to be.

if that happened, Sony and microsoft wouldn't be able to compete with nintendo (as console prices are right now)

they used to be good at producing consoles so why not now? maybe that is precisly what Sonic needs

Doubtful, not that I wouldn't think it would be interesting for Sega to enter the market again. 3 consoles are enough, if they were to enter the console market again, I think it'll end badly for them.

maybe the whole market is gonna be different in 20 years maybe MS or Sony stopped producing opening a gap for a company too fill (like 20 years ago)
