I haven't been here long but i noticed a big number of really vague thread titles. Am i the only one that finds this kind of irritating. On the practical side it is confusing and it makes threads search hard, besides, is anoying to have to enter the thread to find out what is it about when you could know it by the title and to find out that is something you're not interested in. Some examples of what it mean

"A Very, Very Quick Question..." if it's so quick why didn't you put it in the title?? (id call it wich nationality are you?)
"Needing some help" (Invader zim drawing suggestions)
"need a bit of help...." (PC Games suggestions)
"I can't wait..." (...for M Jackson threads to be over)
"This is odd" (yahtzee dancing video (Caramelldansen))
"anyone else see this?" (last airbender trailer)
"I Wonder..." (Ever tried to find you house in a game?)
"Anyone else ever do this?" (RGPs, meaningful or better weapon?)
"Dear fellow Escapists" (Wich DS game should i buy?)
"HELP!" (Sam & Max season 1, Wii or Xbox Live?)
and so on

Actually i could find less than i remembered.

sorry if this came out as a rant, i didn't mean to do so.

Title are attention getters. If you see what the thread is about before even reading it, you might not go into it.

You can't fit exactly what you want to say in the title
Most times is possible.

Cause people see these vague names like 'need some help' or 'quick question' and want to see what it's about. Which generally leads to more people posting on it and getting a good thread going.
Orrr....someone wants a badge for so many posts and wants peoples attention.

Exactly this. They bait you in for thread views, although I disapprove of it.

I've decided that all posts I make will be titled "Why should one suffer a homosexual?" of maybe "Jews: Plant food or zombie fodder?"

These posts would be SURE to catch 200 angry escapists off guard when its actually about how super metroid is the ultimate platformer and greatest game in history.

Unique indeed...

Ahem, back on topic, titles can be considered either a convience or a IN-convience two good examples of this would be...
"Why raiden looks like a woman" or for the less thought through threads (and the cap is for the example, "THE HEAVY IS AWESOME BECAUSE..."

If a title had to describe it's content Jak'd be out of a job here >.>
Although it's usually just a general statement to get interest in the thread :D

It will be about fish.

HAHA! Yes!

I wouldnt know what to write if the title had to be relevant, it would end up being a cut and paste job with the last sentence being my title... How very dull, and yes I agree wth your second statement.

Everything you write makes beautiful music. :D
