Sell me Killing Floor.

This year I got LFD/2 and Black Ops which all had zombies in this (L4D/2 being mainly zombies of course)

and I thought I was done with zombies but then I heard a couple months ago that Killing Floor is one of the best zombie games...

So... Sell me it in the sense of telling me if its truly worth it, nice features...

Well, the music was awesome. Nice metal tune for when your kicking the shit out of zombies. It's much more challenging then L4D. L4D was mainly a run through and have a nice gorefest. This was much more about survival.

These zombies are more monsters then zombies also. You've got all these weird creatures and shit. Not just some human gone douched up into a zombieman.

Oh, and you earn money to buy different weapons and repair armor and stuff. So there is always use of it as well.

You can't run fast,if your not carfull you will get surrounded, how you handle that and if you survive is up to you, some skill and having teamates that will watch your back.

It consists of rounds or waves of zombies with bigger and bader ones comming in each round,you get cash for killing them which you use to buy bigger and bader guns (which against fleshpounds and the likes are still not OP)

It's a fun game one i can pick up and put down over and over (usualy with friends), it's well supported by Tripwire with a fun christmas mod and map out for free at the moment.

it's cheap on steam at the moment, if you can affoard a game that you might not be playing 24/7 then get it,

If you like L4D, you might not like KF. The reason being is that L4D gives you an objective to reach. KF just puts you in an arena and has you trying to survive a wave. At the end of the wave, you get to go upgrade your weapons, but you want to try to end your wave near the store so you have time to buy your gear. There isn't as much strategy and teamwork in it as L4D. Maybe it's because of my teammates, I don't know, but I always felt like the focus was to kill more than your teammates than to help you all survive. When you lose a teammate in L4D you feel screwed because that's one less person to help you up when you are knocked down. In KF, as long as you don't get overwhelmed, a dead teammate just means more money for you before the round is over.

Some people prefer KF over L4D and I can see why, but it's not something I'm excited about. It's good enough for me to enjoy and play on occasion, but L4D has much more staying power for me.

If those people get overrun like that first wave...I hate to see what happens next. They sucked; that must be the devs playing, because i have never seen a game with all lvl 0, or 1 people.

A couple of notes (from someone who isn't from a TF background- purely a L4D/L4D2 player):
-KF is a HARD game. Do not try to play it solo- you will only get frustrated.
-Get a crew of pipe-swingin' fools that you trust to not flake out and charge off on their own. You'll have a blast, and it will be intense and scary.
-WARNING: LEARNING CURVE IS STEEP.

All and all, it is a shockingly well done team game, considering the (non-existent) budget they were on.

Killing Floor is the sort of game I can play with my friends and squeal over the microphone when there's a horde of giant monsters wanting to chop me up into little slices and make a ham sandwich out of me. D: It gets that itch that sometimes L4D cannot scratch, and I've played L4D quite a bit (1k hours). The Christmas event is really nice too, reindeer and santas everywhere. :J

the best thing about this game? you can use a chainsaw on a dude with a chainsaw for an arm. i'm sorry, i just love doing that.
