Rather than just talking about remakes in general I'd like to talk about one of my favourite types of game. Why doesn't anyone replicate and update the classic point 'n' click games of yester-year?
I've never* had more fun in a game than I have playing stuff like Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max, Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis, Monkey Island etc...
Have I just missed any recent ones or has this genre of gaming truly been left behind? I know there was a Monkey Island for iPhone but that's hardly what we want. Lucasarts needs to kick that SCUMM engine back into gear and develop some quality gaming again...
So, do you think we should get a few decent games made in this style again? If so, how would you like to see them, 3D or 2D? Any other changes?
*that was a lie, but the sentiment remains...*
EDIT:
I guess this discussion could be opened up for all genre's too.
Also, more importantly, what elements could be added to a remake to make them better?
