L4D2... At least not.....yet.... I mean, come on, L4D has only been out for ABOUT a year, maybe less. In reality, L4D2 is just more campaigns... More weapons.... New characters... And a new special infected... Sounds like it should be DLC. Just imo.

Perfect Dark Zero should never have been made and I kind of hate Rare because it was brought into this world.
Seriously, way to make a whole new generation hate a game simply because it's successor was utter crap.
Super shame since the original is (I feel) the best first person shooter ever made.

It had all the weapons of the original goldeneye, most of the most popular multiplayer levels, it had a pretty sweet collection of new weapons, it included AI in the multiplayer which is only now coming back slowly with these you versus a horde of mobs thing.

Plus overall I enjoyed taking those combat boosts and shooting an arrow, running beside it as it traveled in the air and watching it smack a guy in the head.

Bullet time in the 90's...before it was cliche (again to me).

I really wish they would've stopped making Pokemon after the first generation. I mean, it was hard enough back then, but now there's no way I'll ever catch 'em all!

Screw you man! Gold and Silver were epic as hell!

Plus...>_> <_<...did you hear? They are remaking Gold and Silver!

I know I know...I got an erection too.

L4D 2. yes. im a boycotting douchebag
Why are you boycotting again? I don't think I've heard the reasons enough times to understand the logic behind it. I'm about at the 126th explanation, wanna be the 127th?

OP: Any sequel to the Sypro franchise past the final insomniac game really just shouldn't exist.

Any Crash Bandicoot or Spyro the Dragon game made since the original creators sold the franchises. Oh, how I mourn the rape of those wonderful works of gaming magic... :'(

I can't believe no-one mentioned this yet...but KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords. Seriously, after the golden delight that was KOTOR I was expecting an absolute wonder of a game that would bring human beings the closest to Nirvana (the mental state not the band) they could ever get! Instead I was sold a crusty half-finished dog turd with a side of piss...so disappointing...

Sorry, but I gotta' ask: have you played it yet? You might be surprised: I think it's one of the best Halo games yet, and I know I'm not alone in that opinion.

Gaming wise, I think the EA sports franchises have gone too far and should only release a new game when innovation occurs, not every year.
I've hated every single sports game of theirs.

Also, all GTA games, including the original should fall off the face of the earth... and I would rejoice.

Mario Party games can be fun, but they've made a few too many. If they made a master game containing all the minigames from all existing mario party games, that'd be cool. But otherwise... well, they ran out of good minigame ideas long ago.

Most of the Need for Speed franchise.

Sure "Shift" has gotten some reasonable recognition BUT the previous 5 or so games were somewhat lacking in quality.

At risk of seeming a tad offensive, I'd like to nominate Doom 3 and its expansion: Resurrection of Evil. They aren't bad games, per se, but the Doom franchise before then was always about blasting endless hordes of the undead whilst frenetic music played. This new system of fighting two or three monsters in confined spaces with really dim lights seemed like it would have worked better if the game was named something different altogether. It is a good game, but it's far too disconnected from its predecessors. The only time I really got into the feel of it was when I downloaded a mod that put flashlights on all the weapons, so I didn't have to spend the game doing constant item juggling.

My second nominee is, as expounded above, FF7: Dirge of Cerberus, for a variety of reasons.

One, the game's AI is remarkably stupid, preferring the standard battlefield tactic of "Stand still and shoot repeatedly" if they have a gun, or "run straight at main character and flail wildly" if they're a melee unit. This also applies to the people helping you, which really hurts when the game's telling you to keep them alive.
Two, the game's characters are almost all completely new, and yet we're expected to accept that they've been around all along. Not to mention that one love interest looks like she's 10, and the other one has perhaps the dumbest facial tic in all creation (one eye constantly closed).
Three, the game is awash in invisible walls, to the point where you could logically just jump over the barriers constantly hampering your progress if the game would just let you. Sure, the maps LOOK expansive, but stray from the path, and you'll find out quickly enough that what looks like an alleyway is effectively just a wall with an alleyway painted on it.
Four, the returning characters with the most screen time are the two optional characters (one of which you actually play as) and that annoying cat (who you also play as for one segment, much to my eternal rage). I feel really sorry for Barret, who only shows up for about five minutes in Advent Children, and even less than that in this game, despite being the second character you play as in FF7 itself.

I really could go on and on about this game, like the part where you're forced to walk around and talk to everyone before the plot will progress, even the minor crewmen, but I'd probably get boring very quickly. Suffice it to say that it's horrible.

Gears of War 2.

They should have fired whoever thought about changing things so drastically, and worked on it another year to boot.

I'm thinking any game released in the last 8 years with the word "mario" in the title.

Let him die in peace already.

and sonic

i dont want to see the mario franchise die. i want to see a new game made when there is some REAL innovation that is good.

other Sequels that have no right to exist are most of the pokemon games. they are all the same FFS. i liked the remakes of blue and red versions for the GBA but now they are just making the old pokemon have new bigger fatter evolutions because they cant come up with any new concepts for pokemon.

Then why slap the name of a franchise on it with all the expectations that will bring? It's like saying you want lobster thermidor, but it has to be Burger King lobster thermidor.

Spyro: Season of the Ice, it was a god awful sequel with annoying controls and it lost the ability to swim.

Crash Bash: a crappy party game with five events(give or take) which is sad because it's predessor,Crash team racing, made a decent genre shift.

Alundra 2. It has absolutely nothing to do with the original and lacks any of its greatness. If you don't know about Alundra, google it. Its one of the best action rpgs ever made, and has one of the highest npc mortality rates in gaming.

Though it's not out yet: Max Payne 3.

The game can't be good. I don't want it to be good. I want it to be so bad it will reach critical mass and collapse into itself.

And any Silent Hill game after the fourth. Let the franchise die in peace.

There are others, of course, and they are too many to mention. So I'll just summarize a large portion of it in two words: Electronic Arts.
