"What the hell?" I Exclaimed as I got out of my easy chair. I got my utility flashlight and I went to the gun locker I had stashed in my closet. Hmm, I thought, what should I choose? There was my M4. No, that's over kill. I know, I'l use my M14 MOD 0. I thought to myself. So I grabed the M14 and a spare magazine. I slid the magazine home, pulled back the charging handle and slid a round into the chamber. *Click*
"Nice," I thought to myself. "Now, lets go see what's wrong with the power." I set out, sticking close to the wall, with my night vision goggles on. Everything was a sickly green color. I had reached the top of the stairs when strange things begin to happen...
I began my slow decent down the stairs. Something jumped from one shadow to another, I brought my rifle to bear. I continued down. After I reaced the bottom, things began to seem normal again. I reached the stairs to the basment...
"God, I fucking hate having to go down these." I thought out loud. I began the harrowing decent down. Each step creaking with my weight, everything was seemingly normal, until I reached the middle of the staircase. The step gave way.
"Oh, shit!" I hollered. my left leg went through the step and now I was stuck. "Son of a *****." I cursed. I tested the step in front of me to see if it went to. Nope, it was solid, I used the butt of my rifle to give myself some leverage. Then I put my whole weight on it. I struggled to get out put within a few minutes I was free. I continued down. Once I hit the bottom I brought my rifle up again. I'm not taking chances against rats. I thought to myself. A smile cracked my face, but it was short lived. I heard a noise behind me. I spun around and put my finger on the trigger. Nothing.
I finally reached the fuse box. Hmm, I thought. no blown fuses, nothing it just seems that someone switched it off. I hit the switch to turn it back on and removed my goggles. That's better, I thought. now I can get back to my game. I turned around.
There was someone in a black facemask and hoodie a few feet in front of me...
"Fuck." I thought and brought my rifle up and squeezed off a round. *Crack* The hooded figure had dodged the round with almost super human speed, well, almost. I knicked his shoulder. There wasn't enough time to shoot again so I charged him. They didn't seem to dodge it this time, I slammed the butt of my M14 into the figures face, it made a wet crack. The figure didn't move, it didn't even flinch, It just looked at me, with blood stains on it.
I swung again, this time the killer moved, grabed the butt of my rifle in mid air, and stoped it. It punched my in the ribs, I heard a crack and I fell to the floor unable to breath.
"You'll, never get away, with this." I said. The killer just stood there, with my rifle in its' hands. "Well shoot me." I said again. "What too chicken to kill someone, eh? Pussy." Blood ejaculated from my mouth as I said the last word. The killer reacheed into it's pocket and pulled out something shiny, my K-bar. It fixed it to my M14 and walked forward.
It swung the butt of the rifle into my face, breaking my jaw. I started to black out, but the killer squeezed off a bullet into my knee. I screamed in agony. The killer aproached me, and sunk the K-Bar into my chest, I felt something wet, almost like warm water. Then they brought the knife out, soaked in my blood. The killer went on to stab me eight-teen more times, but I passed out and died around number four.
