I sat at home one dark, rainy night. Rainy, you might ask. It never rains in California, you could say. Well, it doesn't, usually. But tonight it was -- and rather hard at that. I left my house, my leather jacket zipped up tight against the chilling rain. I had business to tend to, of a rather sensitive nature.
I walked for a while, and eventually came to a large house. It was time. I entered slowly, through the back door. I didn't make a sound. Unfortunately, neither did the man who pressed the chloroform-soaked rag in front of my mouth.
Some hours later, I awoke strapped to a chair in a dark room. Several figures stood before me, accusation reigned upon their countenances. "WHY?" one of them screamed.
"Why what?" I replied, still as cool as I ever had been.
"Why did you kill your friends. People that trusted you. People that loved you. People who were proud to know you."
"Oh. That. Well, I suppose it was all just a game. After all, what does it matter? We live, we die, the cycle continues. All I did was to bring to pass the inevitable. It would do good for you to remember this, my friends, for one of you will soon see things my way." I said, in what would be my final statement.
One of the figures looked to another, who then took a container of some sort off the ground and began to pour its contents on me , my clothes, and then in a small trail towards the figure who had spoken. This person then took a lighter from his pocket and removed his mask. I saw the familiar face of my friend.
With a careless flick, he lit the flames, and threw it upon the gasoline that was saturating my immediate vicinity. Within the light the dancing flames of the end of time, I saw the faces of those whom I had called friends. Some were sad, I even saw one shed a small tear. Some seemed happy, but most seemed resigned. I had forced them to a do a terrible thing indeed -- my manipulations had, at the least, cost each of them some degree of sanity.
The roaring light and heat consumed me, until I saw nothing but darkness. Indeed, the end has come, as all things must needs end. Too soon, too soon. Always too soon.
<quote=Yes I've been killing you guys>I was hoping to win, too.
I'll make a thread for the next round, I suppose, if people are still interested.
