As the title says. Series or franchises that you would have loved to either see go in different directions, or were cut off before their time, or pretty much simply dropped the ball.

For me, the biggest offender has to be Star Trek, mainly the late 90s Star Trek. Deep Space Nine should have run a season longer than it did to better establish Ezri and really bring the Dominion War to a close, rather than the bit of a copout we got. While the last season wasn't bad, I felt it wasn't up to snuff with what came before.

Voyager pretty much blew its chances at being something unique through a factor of Rick Berman's conservative nature that put him at odds with directions the writers wanted to take the show, as well as the writers' own inability to come up with consistent scripts and characterization.

And lastly, there were the TNG films, which suffered similarly to Voyager, and were unceremoniously dumped along with Enterprise when Paramount all but gave up on the franchise until 2009.

And thought I look forward to Alternate Star Trek's future, I can't help but feel that the past series were left behind before their time. Who wouldn't want to see a Deep Space Nine film, or a Voyager film set after their return to the Alpha Quadrant? See Sisko return from the Celestial Temple, or see just what Janeway pulled off that managed to waylay a court martial and make her an admiral?

I certainly would, and it's a shame that we won't get to now. What we got was great, but I always felt there was more that could be done with Star Trek than we got.
