They're backed up three fucking pages on Gaming Discussion. It's ridiculous.

If it helps, I notice they tend to pop up around about the same time each day. If you can get a mod to always be online at that time, he can ban them as they appear.

Edit: Did I say three pages? I meant eleven.

I'm afraid that nobody who reads the forums has the ability and/or authority to actually do anything about it.

Yeah, the mods have made it clear that without the technical staff (who have all been fired), nobody here actually knows how to make a captcha. (even though I expect that that shouldn't be too hard for some of the forum members here) You'll have to take it up with defy media.

Well, the mod they took on to deal with this up and banned themselves after a while, soooooo...we's fucked, bois.

But yeah, this is 100% a problem that Defy won't deal with.

Smell that? You smell that? Spambots, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of spambots in the morning.

I'm out of ideas that don't require utilising intense violence or smear campaigns against this enemy. But at least the spambots are exercising their right to free speech.

Yep, they've pretty much taken over the entire forum. It's pretty obvious by now that the mods are fighting a losing battle, ...either that or the mods have just given up at this point.

I guess this is the hill the Escapist dies on; a hill of Indian love gurus and vashikaran specialists...

Damn what's going on? It's like the forums are under attack!

I hope something can be done to fix this.

I hope this isn't how it ends, it would be a real sad way for this forum to go. This situation really feels like the work of someone who has a grudge with the site.

I've flagged them, I've reported them using the contact form, I've messaged the mods in their usergroup, and I've even posted suggestions in some of these threads.
And all of it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

As much as it pains me to say it, I think this site might be a dead duck that no one in charge/power really cares about anymore.

Of all the ways that would kill these forums, I didn't expect it would be a robot uprising.

Getting new mods is just a temporary solution, and a short-lived one if they just ban themselves. Only thing that would help is a technical staff, an investment upper management does not think is worth it.

There's one thing about posting in the Escapist forums I never could stomach - all the damn spambots!

That was my bad. I saw the post yesterday but every morning, I spend about thirty minutes or so taking out the spam trash so by the time I was done, I forgot about the message.

OT: Anyway, guys, I appreciate that everyone is getting super pissed about it (as am I [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.968996-The-Gaming-Discussion-forum-is-bombarded-with-love-specialists#24016686]) but please try to keep this to one thread instead of a new thread every day.
