Okay, so this is really pissing me off right now. Windows 7 has decided to give me a problem for the first time in my life. Icons are not showing up for my pictures on the Hard Drive. Anyone know what I can do to make them show up again?

Printscreen?
Kinda hard to diagnose a problem with so little details right now.
-Have you updated recently?
-installed suspicious software?
-Have you tried Googling? if not then click here

That happened to me once before. Go do something for 5 minutes & come back. If the icons haven't loaded by the time you come back, hard boot.

Oh wait, you said for the pictures, not desktop. Try left click/view/change icon size. Or can you see the names but only whiteness where the thumbnail should be?

Determine if there is any program(s) taxing your memory and runtime speed too much.
Check harddrive for remaining storage capacity, cookies, level of fragmentation.
Run a full virus scan and whatever other utilities you have available to you.
Ask someone more knowledgeable than I on how to fix the first one.
Defrag harddrive and clear cookie cache data for the second one.
Clear out any viruses you might have as per anti-virus program on the third.
Shut down and restart computer.
Ask an expert if none of these help.

Icons are not showing up for your pictures...

Taken literally, that would mean that there are no icons or any visual element displayed at all, only text. Is that the case?

That would be very unexpected, even for a bug, so I'm going to assume that you can no longer see the small preview images, called thumbnails, and instead only see icons. This is normal, and you change it by the method Likalaruku explained, or by clicking the Change Your View menu that sits two items left of the blue Help icon near the top-right of your window.

I would then recommend familiarizing yourself with the Windows interface to avoid confusion in the future. There ought to be a Getting Started chapter in the help files for that.

You haven't set windows explorer to not show preview thumbnails have you? Also, if an image is above a certain size, it won't generate a preview.

Otherwise, I'd follow the advice of poster #5, but always make sure you understand what you're typing in with anything to do with the command line, as a general rule of advice.

Yeah, sorry, that is what I meant. I have Icons showing my default display program logo, but the preview pictures that used to show up are no longer doing so. I haven't changed any preferences to tell it to do so, I just can't make them reappear by clearing the cache or anything like that...

Edit: Okay, so I suck. Apparently I DID accidentally click something, because I just found the issue, and it was a display option as was suggested as a possibility.
