"Server is down for maintenance."

So obviously this thread will only apply to all the die-hard MMO players. What do you guys do when the servers are down for maintenance? Do you freak out, Chill on another game, or ragequit the game forever?

Personally I go play some shooters like CoD 4, Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead or go post on the Escapist, when WoW servers are down. (Yes you guessed it the servers are down at this very moment lol.)

Well, back when I played World of Warcraft,(I have now escaped from that black void) And a maintenence message would pop up(not those wimpy 15 minute ones, the real ones) I would give a firm but discrete "Damn it", and go play Gears of War.

Uhm...well nothing. Servers are usually down when Blizz(Yes I play wow don't judge me for it)needs to clean all the crap we left behind. I usually either watch TV, talk a bit on the phone and...read a good book?
But mostly the servers aren't down when I'm playing, so no need to worry for me.

this kinda fits perfect because both WoW and WAR servers are down today. back when i used to play wow i would just play CoD4, after a match check to see if i could connect to the server (beause Blizzard is so nice to tell everyone when maintenance has finished early), if it was up i would jump right into WoW, otherwise its back to team death match.

I wish the MMOs would all pick a different day to have maintenance. It seems like they all pick on Tuesday. The upside is that "generally" they are back online before I get done with work, but sure makes the morning coffee boring.

I'm an EVE player, I have no problem whatsoever with downtime. EVE has daily down time for an hour. Yes, the server (single server) is down for maintenance for one hour every day. So I don't get why anyone would throw a pissy fit if their server is down for maintenance.

I was never home on maintenance days, and I just played other, better games when they went down for patches and other shit.

*luls at EVE* I dunno never could quite get into that one, it gets too complicated to do simple tasks. Very pretty game though.

@OP I'm glad you said that because as soon as I read the Topic I knew that you were talking about WoW servers right now, probably because I'm here right now for the same reason.

I personally try badge whoring at Kongregate.com, play some L4D, or Post on my beloved fourms.

So are the EQ and DDO servers, I think they all get together and patch at the same time just to piss people off.
